No Doubt opening for Stones The Stones are playing 2 shows in Toronto, for some bizarre reason at 2 different venues with No Doubt opening the 2nd show!!! Weird.
Im just glad I dont have to buy my ONA tix on Ticketmaster tomorrow with the Stones scalpers taking over the lines! Thanks P! Bob

I'm a former No Doubt fan as well...this new album is RANK!!!
As for the Stones slot...I just dunno...I could see a few other acts doing a better job...It's not like the Stones NEED a red-hot opening act to help sell tix.. Stones sellout just about every show they do themselves!!! MY PREFERENCES FOR THE OPENING GIG -Wilco (just listen to BEING THERE and you'll see why) -Black Crows (not a big fan but many Stones fans would like) -Ryan Adams (This media darling would be an ideal fit) -Sheryl Crow (Even though I believe she opened for them B4) any others??? No Doubt, huh? I don't know. A lot of Stones fans are in their 50s and 60s now. While there may be some songs they'll like, there's Gwen Stefani's navel to stare at otherwise there might just have a No Doubt tossed salad.
I have no idea who could open for them. I agree, perhaps the Black Crowes would pull it off, the Strokes (I don't like them, but . . . who knows) LQ

Wilco? ugh. i've already had to suffer through Blues Traveler and DuMB opening for the Stones, i think i'm due for something better this year...the other times i got Lenny Kravitz, Jonny Lang, and Living Colour (all the way back in 89), i don't want some ass-kissing critics favorite...

Has Prince had any further contact with the Stones since he opened for them years ago?

UGH...
Wilco...ass kissing critics favorite??? Maybe in light of recent alt-country rockers/wannabe's (Ryan Adams, Josh Rouse) who have brought the genre to a "higher" level you may want to think that Wilco (with current album) have always been the critics darling...critics have just caught up and realized...Wilco have been doing this for many years. Going way back to J. Tweedy's days with Uncle Tupelo...though they dont like to admit it...they did spearhead the alt-country movement of the late 80's... many bands still try to match up (Riptones, Whiskeytown, Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash) and those are the bands that can be considered ass kissing critics favorites... Critics paid no mind to Uncle Tupelo when they sang "No Depression" way back...and Wilco was just the offspring of a brilliant band. And I think they would be the perfect band to open for the Stones... my .02 [This message was edited Sat Jun 8 3:07:35 PDT 2002 by VANITYSprisonBYTCH] Every minute of last night is on my face today....
