I think DC's personality or lack thereof gets under my skin more. They seem so ditzy and phony in interviews. Instead of worrying about their hair, make-up, and clothes, I think they should practice their social skills a little more often. Beyonce and Michelle are god awful when it comes to giving interviews. To all my little Hulkamaniacs, say your prayers, take your vitamins and you will never go wrong.

Oh man, En Vouge by a mile. I didn't buy any of their albums but I liked the songs they released. I like Destiny's Child but between the 2, the Funky Divas got it on lock. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

If you're comparing quality of the material they performed and the performance itself...no way, no how! En Vogue was a producer-driven group, and when that production team faltered so did they. Foster/McElroy had their time, but a whole catalogue of En Vogue's songs couldn't even compete with Reflections or I Hear a Symphony alone!

The thread had nothing to do with The Supremes but since we've had to go there.
It was group vs group not individual vs individual. That being the case, feel free to come up with a comparable En Vogue list of 20 strong songs... Where Did Our Love Go Baby Love Stop! They really should not have ended up on the same thread, just like you can't really compare DC to EnVogue. It's a matter of personal preference to me: EV over DC, Lizz Wright over every female singer out right now.It was group vs group not individual vs individual. 1. En Vogue is better than DC, not because En Vogue is the greatest ever, but DC has put out some of the worst songs in the history of popular music.
2. En Vogue had chops, but their no match for Diana and the Supremes. Diana Ross is a great live performer, quite honestly one of the most electrifying/charismatic of her type. Diana alone would blow En Vogue away in their prime.

I win!!! Nice try bro, but you're only semi-slick. My challenge was not for "20 En Vogue Songs" but "a comparable En Vogue list of 20 strong songs". Again, The Supremes were not even part of the original discussion. But so be it. Then you came back for seconds on red herring by trying to pit solo vocalist against solo vocalist. I personally don't like Diana Ross as a solo artist, but in the context of The Supremes it works. The objective of The Supremes as a group is not to out-sing anybody but to sing the songs. As for your list, imo, they're not 20 strong songs and they're definitely not comparable to The Supremes 20. (Foster & McElroy vs Holland, Dozier, Holland? Las Vegas probably wouldn't even put that on the board. ) How about an "E" for effort? Someday We'll Be Together stays on the list because it's the last #1 Supremes single... ...Diana Ross & The Supremes to be exact. (Which is still The Supremes only Diana Ross gets top billing) It's the final song Diana Ross recorded and performed with the group. Berry Gordy decided to release Reach Out and Touch as Diana's 1st solo single. Love child... ...is also a Diana Ross & The Supremes record. In And Out Of Love Stoned Love Nathan Jones Up The Ladder To The Roof all stay because, once again, they are songs by The Supremes. You brought up The Supremes. "En Vogue would kill The Supremes" (your words), remember? Neither Mary or Cindy were ever in the studio during the vocal recording of Love Child or Someday We'll Be Together!!! Berry Gordy was using totally different backing vocalists on both of THOSE songs. Love Child especially was a experiential song use to test how well Diana would handle the solo artist role in the future. You're right to say that both songs are billed as Diana Ross & The Supremes. BUT, did Mary or Cindy had any part of those recording? No!!
