www.twinfreaks.net im downloading my copy as we type Here is something from Pitchfork I found about it, including Tracklisting. ----- News has recently surfaced that notorious techno-masher Freelance Hellraiser has been working on an album of remixes with none other than Paul McCartney. According to the NME, the pair have been collaborating on a 2xLP of re-imagined (read: techno-riffic) Macca tracks under the moniker Twin Freaks-- named for a 1990 McCartney painting-- after hitting it off on McCartney's last world tour, where the "Cute Beatle" had Hellraiser (British DJ Roy Kerr) open his shows with remixes of key solo tracks. The album's debut single, "Really Love You", has already been making the rounds on UK radio, and offers a remix of McCartney's Flaming Pie cut of the same name. A 12" vinyl single of the track is slated to hit stores on June 6 via Graze Records, while the duo's self-titled double album is set for a vinyl release through EMI the following week, on June 13. The tracklist boasts a number of McCartney solo classics (as well as a few head scratchers), and includes such hits as "Live and Let Die", "Coming Up", and "Maybe I'm Amazed". Your mother should know: >>LP1 Side A 01 Really Love You 02 Long Haired Lady (Reprise) 03 Rinse The Raindrops Side B 01 Darkroom 02 Live And Let Die 03 Temporary Secretary >>LP2 Side C 01 What's That You're Doing 02 Oh Woman, Oh Why 03 Mumbo Side D 01 Lalula 02 Coming Up 03 Maybe I'm Amazed The upcoming Twin Freaks release marks McCartney's most recent foray into mass market experimentation, who, like one-time collaborator Elvis Costello, has had his share of genre-bending vanity projects Its available for LP & Digital Download from their website. . This isn't too surprising. Paul McCartney released an ambient house album in 1994 called Strawberries Oceans Ships Forest under the name of The Fireman. He does these occasional odd projects.

It has electonic stuff, but Rushes is actually real insturmentation for the most part. Piano, bass, drums, guitar.. very organic type album. its very eclectic. You should definantly check that one out.. I'm not too keen on the straberries one either.. every song was nearly the same. Allmusic gave it 4 and 1/2 stars out of 5. [Edited 6/20/05 9:47am] | |
