Destiny's Child To Split After Fall Tour

Chart-topping R&B trio Destiny's Child will split after its fall North American tour, according to a published report. Group member Kelly Rowland made the announcement on stage in Barcelona last night (June 11). The trio's "Destiny Fulfilled...and Loving It" tour will hit North America beginning July 2 in New Orleans and wrap Sept. 10 in Vancouver.

The corresponding album, "Destiny Fulfilled," debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 late last year and spawned the hit single "Lose My Breath." It has sold more than 2.7 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

No it didn't. It debuted at #19 due to street date violations, then peaked at #2 the following week. Jonathan Cohen needs to buy a fact-checker. How embarrassing considering this is actually a Billboard article.

they had a good run. it should indeed end with this album and tour. michelle has looked out of place for all the promotion stops they did for this album.

I remember that too they didnt reach #1

but the albums title says it all destiny fulfilled -> basically saying its the end

That's kind of sad. I liked Destinations Children and thought they were one of the most innovative R&B groups around for a long time. I'm not completely shocked though since the album is called "destiny Fulfilled". I guess this just means we get to see more of Beyonce (as if we don't see her enough). Michelle seems to do ok with her gospel music but I don't know about Kelly. She'll probably just continue to sweat Beyonce and praise her on any interviews she does as usual.

Beyonce just got 2 big for the other 2!! So when it came time for the group situation, she just couldnt handle it!!!! She just couldnt handle sharing the limelight!!!

Beyonces ego is as big as the Atlantic Ocean!!!!!

Thank God. Let's hope all 3 disappear.

I like Beyonce as a solo act,but I agree,Destiny's Child needs to disappear.Their recent hit "Soldier" is one of the crappiest R&B songs of the year.Many of their previous singles ("Survivor","Say My Name",etc) are even more annoying.

No surprise there whatsoever. If the latest album had sold like its predecessor then they would have kept going, but it didn't so they won't.

Actually, "Survivor" sold about 3 million copies in the US, as well. So they're pretty much even with previous sales. I think they split because Beyonce wants to return to her solo career (Christ, I wish she'd just go away for a year), and also they're all damn embarrassed by Michelle.

If ur in a girlband or boyband, breaking a solo career, to satisfy ur ego, is what the lead member usually always wants to do

Kelly is finer then ever now. I love her long hair. Beyonce looks worse then ever

Them breaking up, Nope didn't see that one coming . They split to see if Beyonce would take off or not, her family managed the group,if she didn't they would've reunited long ago.
Kelly and michell can both sing better than Beyonce but they don't have the machine behind them.
Kellys album was pretty good although I'm really tired of that whole "I can't help but to cheat on my man/woman with you" theme of her first release (song w/nelly).
It seems that all of todays "popular" music is about cheating are there no true lovers left in the world that's another topic.

Girl groups never last. THere is no Rolling stones type female grouo that has lasted for years but I can List too many girl groups (R&B and POP) that never have split.
