And my vote is Star Wars. Star Trek had some great series, unfortunately, most of the films are awful. The only ones I've fully liked are the first two.

I love reading the works of Philip K Dick, Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, John W. Campbell, Jr., and other authors of the genre. Fact is, I think most of the Star Trek films (I'm talking films, not TV series) are written well enough but are poorly directed and/or acted.
