petitioning to get michael help, is like petitioning for madonna to get rid of kabahlah, its not going to happen. its non of our buisness what celebs do in their personal life, so just leave it.

dont see why your demanding this of me...should prince fans stop showing their appreciation for SOTT? should janet fans stop commenting on her fifty gazillion interludes? should madge fans stop bitching about her not yet releasing that new documentary?

no, they shouldnt because they are talking about the music and there public career, if you were complaining something about his career or music then i wouldnt of said anything, but yes, madonna fans should stop complaining about kabahalah and prince fans should stop complaining about him being a jehovas witness and the fact thast its changed him, just liek you should stop complaining about michels personal life

SOS, like many other fans of many other musicians, many MJ fans give a fuck about what the musician can do for them and not the musician himself. I would think that the love I keep hearing about would lead people to want what's best for him.

i hear ya...and agree to an extent...maybe mj threads belong in gd because we longer seem to discuss his "music"..its silly for mj fans to even argue that all they care about is his music when we have been endured with endless thread after thread about his "personal" habits.....and if they are able to pontificate on his habits then i should be able to voice my concern; that his fan base has aided in creating the monster that he is.....and honestly feel that..and its not hating on any individual here or anywhere else...i just dont see the harm in campaigning for his fans to wake up, organize and demand this man get help....

like i've said before, mj fans can disagree with me all they want....im not holding a gun up to their head....

Although I don't believe Michael to be a pedophile, I do believe that Therapy would be good.

Just to deal with his lost childhood, the trauma of the trial.

NOT GUILTY

By Bruce Britt

Posted June 14, 2005 -- I’m not even gonna front. Long before Michael Jackson’s child molestation case went to trial, I was pretty much done with the King of Pop. Ever since “Thriller” thrust him into the music major leagues, MJ’s career has been a succession of ridiculous scandals. Growing up, I admired Michael because he took so much pride in his work. It was about music then. But since “Thriller,” it’s been all about image and controversy and I’d had enough.

But then a funny thing happened on my way to Haterville.

It was the trial…

If you want an example of how to comport yourself in the midst of a legal battle, then look no further than the King of Pop. With one minor exception, Michael’s cinched the most important performance of his life.

Perhaps performance is the wrong word. It implies that Michael was acting, and I don’t believe he was. When faced with the biggest challenge of his life, Michael did what every stand up person does: he focused and stared down his internal and external demons.

I don’t believe Michael ever lied during this ordeal. Despite the 1993 scandal where he paid a family in an out-of-court settlement amidst molestation accusations, Michael confessed in 2003 that he still allowed kids to sleep in his bedroom. A year later, the singer was the defendant in a molestation trial, yet from day one he behaved commendably.

He never led police on a low-speed car chase or denials followed by an embarrassed confession. He never issued any lame excuses like, “I went to retrieve my gun from the restaurant, and when I returned to my car my wife had mysteriously been shot dead.”

Michael never fled the country, nor did he filibuster to hold up the trial. He didn’t play the race card, the God card, the victim card. From the very beginning, the fragile-looking megastar faced his accusers. Sure, he once showed up late for trial in his pajamas, but in retrospect it was a fluke.

Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Oliver North, Gary Hart, Jimmy Swaggart, Bill Clinton, OJ Simpson, George W. Bush, Rush Limbaugh, Kobe Bryant. The list goes on and on.

Big men. Tough guys. Presidents. “Role models.” “Leaders”…

And liars, every last one of them. That’s not to say they’re necessarily bad men, but the record shows that when the scandal hit the fan, they fudged the truth a little.

I suspect Michael’s a liar, too. I don’t believe the whole skin disease / plastic surgery thing. But you know what? Big deal. Cosmetic surgery is a personal decision. It’s none of anyone’s business. At least Michael’s “transgressions” haven’t compromised international security. To my knowledge, nobody has died for Michael’s “sins.” He never declared a war on anybody. If anything, the world declared war on him.

Some of you are reading this and thinking: “But what about the children? Michael preyed on children, didn’t he?”

Maybe. Frankly, I don’t know and you don’t either. But so far, veritable armies of police, attorneys and investigators have searched, and searched and searched. And they have found precious little.

Where were the protectors of children when Michael was being stripped of his childhood? While we’re on the subject, where were you when Gary Coleman, Todd Bridges, Dana Plato, Bobby Brown, the Olsen twins, Britney, Justin, Christina and countless other child stars were being driven mad by fame? Nothing has changed since Michael’s child star days. We continue to offer up the young for slaughter.

As for Michael’s penchant for sleeping with kids – I admit, that’s a thornier subject. Questions and doubts remain. But it helps to remember that from the age of 5, almost every adult in Michael’s life has hurt or betrayed him. Maybe Michael began to view kids as insulation from the cruel, grown-up world. Perhaps he believed that if he surrounded himself nightly with innocents, maybe he could get some sleep. Indeed, it’s revealing that Michael nicknamed his third child “Blanket.” Even an amateur psychoanalyst can see that the King of Pop desperately desires all the things we associate with blankets -- warmth, comfort, security, peace of mind.

But in light of the recent trial, Michael knows that kids can also lie, cheat and steal.

As I write this, an Olsen twin is battling an eating disorder. Christina Aguilera can’t seem to decide if she wants to be a serious singer or a rump-shaking pop tart. Lindsey Lohan’s many ill-advised moves are documented in the tabloid press.

Meanwhile, Britney Spears is married and expecting. I wish her luck. But just because you’re a domestic diva now, Britney, doesn’t mean that the media will respect your privacy.

As you will probably soon discover, there’s a cosmic reason why “press pass” rhymes with “trespass.”

That's a very good,well-written article.I found myself agreeing with much of what the journalist wrote.

Jackson Will Stay at Neverland

Michael Jackson has changed his mind about leaving America and is determined to "bounce back", following his acquittal on child molestation charges. The pop superstar contemplated selling his Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara during the height of the 14 week trial, when public opinion seemed to be against him. He was reported to be planning to emigrate to Europe if found not guilty. By Jackson's father Joe says, "He did have difficult moments during the trial and talked that way. But I don't think he is leaving Neverland anytime soon." Jackson Sr. also rejects claims his superstar son will give a TV interview, insisting the Thriller star wants to concentrate on rebuilding his health and spending time with his family. He tells the New York Daily News, "He is working to get his health better. I don't see Michael doing any TV anytime soon. He wants to spend time with his kids." Joe Jackson also denies he and wife Katherine are planning a reality show about their own lives: "Katherine wants to take a vacation, and I am going soon to Germany for my birthday party."
