Boy George "dont take my mind on a trip"

Anyone heard this cut? I got the music video (DULL) and got the awesome 12" but not the album it comes from? Help me out. Any other newjack cuts on that album?

I love that song.

great song. others are great too on that cd, 'tophat' i believe. George didn't like the cd so much, too Teddy Riley and hip hop for him. I dug it though.

High Hat.

It was his 2nd solo album that reached out to the R&B audience. DTMMOAT went number one on the R&B charts and fared much better than his first solo outing SOLD. The B-Side Girlfriend is as campy as the title...but is a fun euro house song.

Another few singles came off of the album and appear on a few comps...You found another guy & Dont Cry.

I acually enjoyed the album esp the songs such as girl with combonation skin and you are my heroin. And the track Kipsy...which was my nick name for a long time.

yeah I know a lot about this album.

it was a decent CD. if you find it for like $5 somewhere, you won't be too mad. BG pulls most of the songs off pretty well, but like was said, thought Teddy Riley was overbearing. I think it sold more as R&B'ish album than pop. definitely not a Culture Club sounding album
you look better on your facebook page than you do in person hmph!

So, did teddy produce quite alot of it? Superspaceboy mentioned a housey track? Is that album just normal poppy stuff or more agressvie rnb?

Teddy even namechecks him on the wrecks n effect cut "newjackswing". "i got keith sweat, heavy d, boy george and my man bobby brown". Seems teddy liked him.

Anyway, the 12" is killer. Thanx guys. I may look into it. Any more info would be super.

Thats good it ain't culture club sounding for me. The video really is dull though. Shame. It might of been big in clubs?

Nah man, that cut is pure newjack. The black audiences woulda lapped that track up. I bought the 12" as teddy produced it. I was pretty shocked to find that out lol

nod You can't front about that jam. That song help put Boy George back on the map after he left Culture Club. As matter of fact, I even bought the 12' single.

This is my favorite song that Boy George has ever done, with or without Culture Club.

It did in the USA. In Europe he was still around. His previos album SOLD did ok there and garnered him a number one with Everything I own. And a few other singles as well from the same.

I've never seen it on any comp, even though it did well. The whole album didn't really seem "him".

Here's a question out to y'all..

Does Boy George and Co. have like the MESSIEST music repritoire? I mean there have to be numerous compilations...yet nothing really comprehenive nor encompassing. Boy's stuff gets mixed into CC's stuff all the time.

Even that above comp I posted is pretty weak. A better COmp would at least start out like this...

Culture Club Years
Time
Do you really want to hurt me
I'll tumble 4 Ya
White Boy
I'm afraid of me
Karma Chameleon
Miss Me Blind
Church of the Poison Mind
Victims
It's a Miracle
The War Song
The Medal Song
Mistake No. 3
Love Is Love
Move Away
God Thank you WOman
Gusto Blusto
I Just Wanna Be Loved
Cold Shoulder
Your Kisses Are Charity

Solo Years
1. Live My Life
2. Everything I Own
3. Freedom
4. Sold
5. Dont Take My Mind On a Trip
6. You found another guy
7. Dont Cry
8. Generations of Love
9. After the Love
10. Love Hurts
11. Bow Down mister
12. No. Clause 28
13. Crying Game
14. Funtime

I lost track of his music after that...feel free to fill in the Gaps.
