1)MJ fans..if you really care about your idol you all need to get together, petition and demand that this man get counseling....for his family to deny him mental nurishment is a crime.....this family (and i now include janet in this....and exclude rebee) seem to enjoy living in a bubble....their music flowed when they were a part of the real world..the further they seclude themselves the more schizophrenic their music becomes....mj bashes the media to an extreme...janet touches her coochie to an extreme....
2)Someone from the Jackson clan needs to go on Leno and shame that man....to become popular 1st by making fun of the OJ murder trials (even letterman refused to do such) and then this...its okay to make lite of things..but leno is a one trick pony and he relies on sensational cases like this....pathetic way to go about being funny....Carson would be embarrased.... 3)What the to anyone who would compare MJ to Martin Lurther King or Nelson Mandela...MJ is a cultural icon yes....But thats it...nothing more...nothing less..to compare him to leaders of peace who gave selflessly? well, lets just say MLK Jr would never go on a Vegas shoping spree without looking at a price tag.... 4) MJ dangled that damn baby out the window.....stop trying to make excuses for the mans freakish behavior.....see item #1. I am so saddened that Jermaine, speaking for Michael and the family said that Michael would not be seeking any professional counseling. I cant believe it! You would think that he would need counseling after the trial alone and thats excluding his other issues. I am dissapointed that the family feels that way. Maybe we do need to hold thier feet to the fire. Oh and by the way, Leno has no sense of decency at all.

By DAVID BAUDER NEW YORK (AP) - Nancy Grace held up a "crow sandwich" to eat after Michael Jackson was declared not guilty of child molestation, then appeared near tears after talking about the case on CNN Headline News for an hour. Some big TV names had a lot at stake in the verdict. Grace has built a successful cable show partly on her prosecutorial attacks on Jackson, while Fox News Channel's Geraldo Rivera declared he'd shave off his mustache if the pop star was found guilty. "I'm enormously relieved," Rivera said. "Not only that my iconic identification has been salvaged and saved, but that justice has been served." Court TV, where Grace also works, had the highest ratings in the network's history Monday when the verdict was announced - higher than any of its O.J. Simpson trial coverage. Fox News Channel, CNN and MSNBC collectively had about 10 million viewers at a time they'd usually have fewer than 2 million. Grace's show had 713,000 viewers, above her half-million nightly average, according to Nielsen Media Research. Grace, a former prosecutor who has fashioned herself as a crime victim's advocate since her fiance was murdered, made it clear she felt Jackson was guilty even though she was cast in a journalistic role on her prime-time CNN Headline News show. "Boy, do I need a shrink," Grace said on her show, where she said Jackson was found "not guilty, by reason of celebrity." She conducted a contentious argument with Paul Rodriguez, foreman of the Jackson jury. "When you have so many little boys coming in and saying, 'this happened to me,' you got a $20 million settlement to make one kid go away, a $2 million settlement to make another kid go away, you got a grown man sleeping with little boys," she said. "Hello!!" Rodriguez attempted a reply, but was cut off after two words. "How do you explain this guy's sleeping with a 13-year-old boy 365 nights in their underwear?" she asked. Rodriguez explained that the jury did not have enough evidence to convict Jackson beyond a reasonable doubt in the case before them. Grace later pressed Rodriguez for his personal view on what Jackson did with boys in his bed. Rodriguez said he only wanted to talk about the evidence set before the jury. "I was very stunned to hear a juror refuse to state what he thought Jackson does in bed with all of his line of little boys, say he didn't want to stick his neck out by telling what he believed," she said. "I mean, isn't that the point of the justice system, to do what you believe in, what you think is right, for Pete's sake?" Rivera, who interviewed Jackson before the trial, had strongly criticized prosecutors for their case against Jackson and predicted he would be acquitted. But he said once the trial began, he refused to talk about the case. He said it was inappropriate for him to appear as a legal observer "because I could not be objective. Once I launched that fusillade, I had to step back." "I think there is really something very sleazy about giving so-called legal commentary that is really no more than your own vitriol thinly disguised," he said. "If you're going to sit up there as an attorney, then you review it as an attorney, review the facts and circumstances." Grace was unavailable for an interview Tuesday, a CNN spokeswoman said. Another cable news host who spent many hours on the case, MSNBC's Dan Abrams, said he had no problem with commentators who give an opinion on guilt or innocence. Abrams, who also covered the case for NBC News, did not give his opinion on the air. "I have a much bigger problem with people who don't admit how they feel about the case and allow their coverage to be colored by their opinions," he said. "I think it's much more important to be honest with the viewer and then the viewer can decide." On her CNN Headline News show, Grace did bring on a lawyer who represents Jackson's parents, although the visit was brief. "This is the bitter pill you're going to have to swallow, Nancy," said attorney Debra Opri. "This is the reality, not the reality you have created for the last year. Michael Jackson is not guilty. Let him live his life in peace and stop trying to retry the case." Responded Grace: "You know what? You're right. So I guess I don't need to hear from the defense, either, and that would be you!" After a short exchange, Opri didn't appear again. http://apnews.myway.com/a...28Q82.html

After a short exchange, Opri didn't appear again. http://apnews.myway.com/a...28Q82.html The deal with ALL OF THE reporters who express an opinion regarding guilt or innocence in ANY trial is that they affect public opinion. And then when a verdict doesn't go the way that these so-called journalists "predict," then the public-at-large BELIEVES that the trial was unfair when they weren't even in the courtroom. In fact, even reading transcripts can be misleading coz unless a person is a JUROR, then he/she really can't be in the position to judge whether or not a verdict was fair due to extraneous circumstances and even the judge's instructions. As far as Nancy Grace is concerned, the woman was even reprimanded by a Georgia court I believe 3 times for unethical behavior concerning evidenciary matters (I think). Ultimately, her behavior didn't affect the outcome of the cases, but still Nancy seems to want to win at all costs. In addition, as far as Michael's case in concerned, she ridiculed the guy over and over again while delivering her biased commentary. The only positive, if you want to call it that, statement that I can make that with Nancy, at least a viewer knows that she is ALWAYS pro-prosecution, Always. I don't agree with it, but her "fans" at least know her point-of-view going in. Now with Diane Diamond, it's another matter completely because she is "biased" without really appearing to be biased. When I watched courtTV, Diamond was also consistently pro-prosecution: everytime she offered HER analysis, she ALWAYS reported that the prosecution was strong even when other analysts didn't see it that way. To me, for a viewer who doesn't know her "history" with Michael, Diamond is even more dangerous coz she appears mild-mannered and open-minded when in fact, she is NOT. To be honest, everytime I watched CourtTV, the women, with maybe the exception of one, seemed to be more "emotionally" connected to the case than the men analysts, and therefore were EXTREMELY biased. It's like certain "journalists" just couldn't even entertain the thought that Michael was not-guilty. Finally, as far Abrams is concerned, I watched his show a few times, and at first, he was completely AGAINST Michael while defending his right to "freedom of the press" while inherently denying Michael's right to the presumption of innocence. I remember Abrams saying that a defendant's "right" to this presumption did NOT apply outside of the courtroom, which is a bunch of BULLSHIT. A journalist might share his opinion; however, he/she ethically could offer the other side complete with VALID ARGUMENTS rather than just a general reference to his/her opinion of guilt being based on pure speculation or the defendant's right to a fair trial. Unfortunately, these "journalists" don't realize that their biased reporting creates the tone for a public lynching of sorts coz MOST people just don't have the time to research these cases and rely on the news for fair reporting. [Edited 6/19/05 5:24am] Well said! I lost any respect for these "opinionators" on CourtTV or MSNBC. Some weeks ago I saw the documentary "The Staircase" which is like a perfect in-depth documentary on american trial proceedings. To see the spin of what happens inside the courtroom to what the "media" reports is indescribably! The more guilty a defendant looks on CourtTV, the higher the ratings will be. It wouldn't be that dramatic, but it seems that international press agencies and international news corporations use local news networks like CourtTV as reliable source. They don't question their source anymore. The Jackson case is just the tip of the iceberg. I followed the case from the very beginning. How come nobody ever questioned the pattern of CourtTV being the exclusive insider on all the DA's infos? Why were they unpacking at Neverland before the police went in (with this amazing amount of 80 officers)? How come Dimond gets an exclusive interview with Sneddon on the first night of the search? Unfortunately American trial coverage has reached the bottom of reliability. Fox, CourtTV and all the other trial shows have succeeded in creating a society in which rumors ARE facts. BTW. I'm glad the trial is over. I happy with the verdict, which is exactly what should have happened. The facts were accepted and the media didn't get through to the jurors. Mesereau's interviews on Larry King and Jay Leno were excellent and showed again what everybody seems to experience when they meet MJ. I don't think I ever read any negative comment on MJ by somebody who met him in person. JohnDoe

A Personal Message from La Toya Jackson I would like to give all of you heartfelt thanks for your continued voices of encouragement and for your amazing support of Michael during the trying days that now, thankfully, lie behind us. Thank you so very much! It has meant a great deal to me, to Michael and to our whole family. It is truly wonderful to have such amazing and loyal fans! This is a very big victory for Michael and we are all very proud that he has been completely and totally vindicated in court, as we were certain he would be. I am pleased to tell you that he is finally getting some rest and is regaining his appetite as well. The end of the trial and the 'not guilty' verdicts on all counts, clearing Michael of all charges, mean that he can now concentrate on the future and his art. He will be beginning a brand new chapter in the Michael Jackson LEGEND. This means that I am not the only person 'Startin' Over' - Michael is now STARTING OVER as well. As a matter of fact, this will be a brand new beginning for all of us. Thank you! Lots of Love, La Toya Jackson Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off
