i dont think she was.yes, she was beautiful but the thing that i liked about her was that she didnt let that get in her way and she put out some good stuff.u may not agree with me but thats my opinion wink her voice and dance ability was great.plus she had a hit when she was like 15 but i know that doesnt mean ur good its how the public takes it...
maybe i feel this way cuz all these chix out here who cant sing are bein looked at as SO GREAT like Ashanti, when she 1st came out ppl were given her all this glory and she cant sing or dance she just looks pretty mad

I agree for the most part...Does anyone on this site remember when Aaliyah appeared on the Oscars to sing a song that was being nominated in the Best Song category? She sung live behind a full orchestara and she sounded better than average...She had a very light feathery voice that was suprisingly melodic...As I've said in the past, you can't paint all of these R&B singers with the same brush...Aaliyah was making some of the most freshest, cutting-edge R&B when she was working with Timbaland and Missy...I'm not even a big fan like that, but she has some songs that I dug...

Yeah, but she'd still blow Aaliyah & Ciara out the water on her worst day.

Vocally, probably so, but a dancer, Beyonce is not. I really hope Beyonce grows as an artist now that she's done with D Child and that all of those chicken head songs are out of her system. She does have a really nice voice when she controls it.

I think Beyonce is somehwat over-rated but at least she can sing (sometimes she can really over sing as well). But what she cannot do is dance better than Aaliyah or Ciara. I agree she has some rhythm but she's too wild, tries too hard and gets sloppy sometimes, she doesn't look like a trained dancer at all (not that she has to be). Aaliyah and Ciara come across more like natural dancers and their choreography is a lot more complex than anything I've ever seen Beyonce do. Her performance at the MTV awards was awful and what she did onstage with Prince was not that impressive.

Yeah, but she'd still blow Aaliyah & Ciara out the water on her worst day. Ciara's choreography is anything but complex, you can find chicks in the hood on every street corner doing the same moves. Everything she's done now looks like a poor rehash of the moves from the "Goodies" video which was nothing impressive or innovative.
