I didn't state that Madonna hadn't managed to maintain her success. She clearly has, through good marketing and fashionable choices in production, rather than any genuine creative instinct nor love or passion for her art. I just find it strange that you're willing to condemn P.Diddy for using the same sales techniques as two of your favourite artists. Funny, that you label me 'musically ignorant' for (allegedly) thinking that P.Diddy has more musical talent than M.J, when you are the very one who has consistently accussed me of musical snobbery when I have stated that Prince's musical abilities FAR outweigh M.J's. Oh by the way, M.J asked P.Diddy to produce his 'Invincible' album, but P.Diddy refused. That says everything really doesn't it? First of all,how do YOU know whether or not Madonna has any "love or passion for her art?" You do not know her,you do not know what she feels,stop acting as if you can read her mind!! Madonna is very passionate about her music.I think the REAL problem you have with her is that SHE IS STILL SUCCESSFUL,AND ON HER OWN TERMS.Did I hit a nerve? 
As for P.Diddy...when he can WRITE and SING an "original" song like "Billie Jean",then we would be able to compare him to an artist like Michael Jackson.When he can WRITE and SING a great (non-sampled) song like "Frozen" or "Like A Prayer",only THEN can we effectively compare him to Madonna.And,to set the record straight...MJ asked P.Diddy to produce a "FEW SONGS" for 'Invincible',but after a week,MJ FIRED HIM because he wasn't impressed with his production techniques (which consists of sampling,sampling and more sampling in case you didn't notice).P.Diddy even complained about his "firing" in a recent MTV interview.Get your facts straight! And yes,you ARE a musical snob.Everytime you make a comment,it's usually to PRAISE Prince,or to bash ANY artist who outsells him(which makes your "defense" of P.Diddy all the more ludicrous). Madonna is learning to play the guitar. I wouldn't call the 'playing instruments'. Compare her guitar playing to Prince's mastery of the instrument. Madonna worked for everything herself. Sure, her and an army of writers and producers ... . DAVIDEYE- Everytime you make a comment its usually to praise another artist. Typically MJ or Madonna. This is a PRINCE site, I have every right to praise Prince here. The entire site is dedicated to him. You just stick to the 'non-Prince music' forum like a bad smell. At least I know where to avoid. I do not 'bash' other artists who 'outsell' Prince. I make an honest opinion based on my thoughts. I have very right to do that. Madonna is indeed still very sucessfull in sales terms. That does not hit a 'raw nerve' with me. But sales sucess and artistic sucess are 2 very different things. Prince is more creative, original and musically accomplished. I don't give a s**t about charts. TRL doesn't even feature on my radar. I'm only 'defending' P.Diddy's ability to make good party music. Nothing else. | |

If you see the footage of her with her band "The Breakfast Club" you can see that she had skills. She admits to having given it up because she didn't have the time to dedicate to it, but I'm excited that she's getting back to it again. Madonna is her OWN creation, not anyone else's. | |
