actually, i have a feeling that what she was doing was at her client's request. and when the legal team got wind of it, they had a "what in the fuck do you think you're doing, you moron?!" type of discussion with MJ, concerning the gag order. same sort of thing that happened when MJ's brothers were pulled off of Larry King the other night. and the reeling in of Dick Gregory and Jesse Jackson. the whole clan just really doesn't get it. this is some serious shit, this is real life. this is not a show that needs a wacky PR stunts and press releases to promote it. none of them seem to understand that, even Janet, who was reported to have gotten up and loudly stomped out in her high heels when the prosecution made it's rebuttal after the defense rested its case. lord.... what a group disbelief

I was just perusing an archive of MJ news...Stuart Backerman "resigned" wink in December 2003, and by the beginning of March, Raymone was being described as his spokeswoman.

http://www.mjnewsonline.c...s/2004/03/

Edit: Off-topic, but...that archive is great fun to peruse! For example, whatever happened to this (Feb. 25, 2003): "According to various sources including the KOP Discussion Board the name of the new song recorded by Barry Gibb and Michael Jackson is titled “Prayer For Peace.” It is also said the song features a world wide famous choir."
http://www.mjnewsonline.c...-war-song/

Or this (Feb. 27, 2003): "...He has also been working on a new album in his home studio and in Miami..."
http://www.mjnewsonline.c...next-move/

Just rumors, I guess! wink

Yeah, I'm a Janet fan, and I was shocked that she did this. In her defense, maybe she just couldn't bear to hear the rest of Zonen's closing argument against Michael?? At any rate, the family may have FINALLY gotten it, but it may be too late.

To tell ya the truth, the events of the past few years has really made me look at Janet differently as a person. I still love her music and appreciate her views on social awareness, but I'm starting to really question this "defiance," "denial," "in your face" attitude,or whatever it is. Not to open up an old can of worms, but the Super Bowl thing really began to "question" her just by the way she handled it. I know she apologized for upsetting people, but it's like she really never said, "Hey, I understand WHY people were upset, but it was an accident." It's like she took responsibility without REALLY taking responsibility.

And now she is portraying a "peep show girl" in Jermaine's new video and showing her ass. I know it's just a very brief appearance, but I just DON'T understand WHY ON EARTH that she would go there AGAIN. Plus, I am really beginning to think that if she continues to constantly play-up the sex-symbol "exhibitionist(????) role, then even MORE people just won't take her music seriously.

I just hope that defiance is not a TREND coz that attitude (or denial???) ultimately brought Michael where he is today. I'm not suggesting that Janet is gonna be going to court anytime soon, but this seeming inability to "look at herself" objectively could eventually cost her a career.

What's interesting for me is that whenever I would see this Raymone lady in the international media (particularly on shows like Larry King), if she was on a panel discussion with ( i.e. pit against) other media pesronalities, I always found her debating skills ridiculously lackluster for someone who would represent a megastar as big as Jackson...I found that she flustered too fast under rapid fire verbal exchange and was less eloquent than what (I feel in my personal opinion) would be required for a celebrity of Jackson's stature. Although I haven't seen most of her media interaction as the Jackson spokesperson (because I'm overseas now), the little I have seen left me...well...unimpressed.....in a situation like this, where you are fighting for your life, your career, your reputation (which spans WORLDWIDE and lifelong), I'm sorry, but you need a rep who is a combination of wordsmith, bulldog, genie, and dreamweaver, punkt.

I didn't like her flat, monotone, boring voice. I don't know about anyone else but considering she'd be speaking about Mike, i never felt gripped by anything she had to say in relation to any news on him.

Not good enough.

I know. I was just responding to a reference to her in a quote. I quoted the "reference," but maybe it wasn't clear. I mean, she DID walk out of court, didn't she? Hey, but I love Janet; I'm just concerned about her. And I hope to hell that Michael is exonerated, so he can move-on with his life.

Agreed...I loved her earlier work (once she got hooked up with Jam and Lewis), RN and VR were great albums, a lot going on there...but the last couple of albums did little for me...and the whole image/attitude she has adopted is not appealing. JMHO. shrug
