Anyone remember this song? Can't beleive this bombed at the time. It isn't even on their greatest hits. To cap it off even more, their follow-up "never let you go", which was a killer blackstreet vibe rnb cut, also failed to do anything I love "dirty dawg". Misoginist? Indeed it is [Edited 6/3/05 14:55pm]

Stop lying. You don't like this. Nobody does. It's not on the greatest hit set, because it wasn't a greatest hit. It bombed. New Kids on the Block had a good handful of nice pop songs (Please Don't Go Girl being their best), but this song deserves no recognition. They were trying way too hard to go the route of the harder-edged R&B group with this one, a la Silk, Jodeci, etc.
It was also when they dropped the New Kids moniker and adopted the more "adult" NKOTB. This single and album was clear desperation. I bought it when it came out for my roommate who was a die hard New Kids fan, and even she disliked it.

If it wasn't NKOTB, u'd like it. "I gave you all that I can Till I caught you swingin' with another man But this time you strayed too far Now you come beggin' like the dog you are" Love that shit. Album is their best and one of my all time favs. Teddy riley hooked them up. Narada Michael walden got them better ballads then maurice ever did. Their voices sounded better too. Thank God "if you go away" was included on that album. Such a good song. It bombed because it was NKOTB and pop was dead. Shame. [Edited 6/3/05 15:31pm] [Edited 6/3/05 15:35pm]

I didn't know Teddy Riley had anything to do with it.

Which sounds like a blackstreet outtake. new kids knew (um) it was the end of the road. but at least they matured. Those ballads shoulda made MOR adult radio stations, but that would just never happen.

(Singing) Dirty dawg, dirty dawg...you're so damn dirrtttyy!!
Yeah, I dug it! Donny D. was getting down on that one, throwing some mad raps while Jordan was harmonizing. Not New Kids on the Block...this was straight up gangsta...NKOTB. Word to the mother! All good things they say never last...
