New Daft Punk...Even Worse that the last one

Nay...makes the last one look like a masterpiece.

Anyone else think that they were a one trick Pony? I didn't but I do now. Where is the house on this new one? Shoo it wasn't even on the last one.

I swear every song was a skipper.

i loaded this stinker onto my mp3 player (just in case it might possibly maybe grow on me someday when i'm really bored and feeling adventurous) and then sold my CD back to the wrecka stow. i think it's a really dull, really annoying, really depressing record...and really, i haven't heard many people say good things about it. i just think it's an all-around turkey. sad

nod I figured you probably had sold it back. That album is a sad moment for Daft Punk.

i don't even get what they were talking about with the guitars. it didn't sound like a guitar-based dance album to me. it just sounded noisy and repetitive. if they DID actually throw in some guitar sounds that were interesting, i might actually have liked it more.

i'm not huge on the homework album, though i can appreciate it. i think discovery is a freakin' CLASSIC, though. one of my favorite albums ever, and certainly one of my absolute most top-of-the-list favorite dance albums.

i guess not everyone can crank 'em out. i think it's a miracle when a band can produce one really brilliant album, so i'm not really mad at daft punk...might not buy any more new albums by them, but i'm not mad at 'em. lol

Oh see Homework is where it's at. They hit gold on that one. Though I was raving/clubbing at the time. It just had that party feel. Revolution 909, Burning, Pheonix, Indo Silver Club, Rolling and scratching. As well as the "experimental ones" like teachers (and only if you know do you get that song) even Da Funk was a bit on the edge.

The second one I liked a lot when it first came out...and then it waned. Songs like digital love and even one more time just didn't stick on me. Though there was some good production on it. SOngs like HFBS, Aerodynamic, Face to face were awesome. But they had introduced an element of guitars and vocals and they went nuts on the vocoder ("thomas...please put the vocoder down") But it's raw element from Homework was gone...the straight up, down and dirty raver music.

You know fans of DP have had to wait VERY long for each offering, at least they could have made it worth it. If this is a contractual obligation thing, they best put out something soon otherwise their power play has the potentail of shooting them in the foot.

This may be their "Chaos and Disorder" album...but they aint Prince.

I remember first hearing "Digital Love" on a jeans commercial (Levi's?) featuring the band and Juliette Lewis and thinking "I must find this song!" I also love "Harder Better Faster Stronger" and "Face To Face", but "One More Time" never appealed to me at all.
