I usually casually leave Madonna out of conversation or lists or whatever cuz I just don't like talking about her most of the time.

I would even go as far as saying, despite having seen bigger, better and, on paper, more entertaining bands, the Big Country gig I went to was the most enjoyable concert I have ever been too. I don't listen to them now though. I swear! RIP Stuart Adamson

I've never cared. Liking the Bee Gees gives you a tough skin.

I don't usually get a good reaction when I mention Slayer.....But I don't really care what people think. I like some stuff which is widely regarded as shit and some stuff that is widely regarded as genius.. It all sounds good to me, so fuck em!

As Cloudbuster said (and as I've said before any time this sorta thread comes up! ), there's nothing to be ashamed of. Karen's voice was gorgeous and Richard really was a great arranger of pop melodies. Wear your Carpenters badge proudly. After all, they ain't nearly as corny as Whitney.

I can't think of any artist that I'm ashamed to like. Most of my family and friends don't get my obsession with Prince, but I've never been ashamed of loving his music.

This is a first for me. I usually proclaim my love for crap music loudly and proudly.
But, I have finally found shame in a previous musical passion of mine: J-Lo. Yup, I bought a few of her CDs and thought "play" was like the best pop song ever for a minute. Now when I see those CDs on my shelf I just hang my head in shame for being fooled by all that

Now when I see those CDs on my shelf I just hang my head in shame for being fooled by all that Darin! I've never heard this before! When you say "I bought a few of her CDs," I get a little concerned. She's only put out a few CDs. I did buy On the 6 when it first was released, played the hell out of it for 3 weeks, and then never touched it again.

Its odd. If I mention Joey lawrence, they go "wow, the blossom kid?" and laugh. Then they may remember "nothing my love cany fix" and smile.
If I mention Prince, I often get laughed at alot more. "dudes a fag right?" etc.....
