But, I have finally found shame in a previous musical passion of mine: J-Lo. Yup, I bought a few of her CDs and thought "play" was like the best pop song ever for a minute. Now when I see those CDs on my shelf I just hang my head in shame for being fooled by all that Darin! I've never heard this before! When you say "I bought a few of her CDs," I get a little concerned. She's only put out a few CDs. I did buy On the 6 when it first was released, played the hell out of it for 3 weeks, and then never touched it again.

I'm a bit ashamed, but not really, about my former obsession with Billy Squier. I was only 14 years old after all. Now I don't think his music holds up well so I can't even say I like it sadly enough.

The last artist that may get mentioned on my favorites list is Geri Halliwell. I don't think she's even listed on my org profile.

Adam & the Ants. I'm not exactly ashamed, but like Prince, you know the kind of reaction you're going to get when you mention them. Check this song out at:

I love me some Boys. me too!! Are you as excited for the new album as I am? My Boys are all growed up. Babies, DUI'S, and frequent use of the party powder'll do that to ya, I suppose. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I love me some Boys. Yay! I thought I'm the only one in the org! Edit: I posted as soon as I saw this, but now I read the thread and there are more? Wow! I'm very excited about Neve Gone! I've only heard 2 songs (Incomplete and Beautiful Woman) but I'm already so relieved that they sound good.... I've been pretty worried about them. Oh, and back to topic: I have been embarassed about Elton John and Whitney Houston-cds, but never BSB. I almost test people. That's the first band I name as my favourite, among few others (Lenny and Prince, mostly). If people snub me then, I decide the are probably not worth my time. All the really cool people have been just cool and respectful. [Edited 5/28/05 22:16pm]

He text-messaged me to tell me BSB was going to be on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." I knew that already - and my mom was taping it - but the fact that he was watching it, too, was more than cool. Anyway, I've loved BSB for six years. I could give a shit what people think about my musical tastes. I've gotten crap for everything I've liked at one point or another, including Prince, Duran Duran and Britney Spears. I love pop music, and if something makes you happy and want to dance, then what's the problem? I say let there be pop! Anyway, I'm excited about the new album. Their last album came out when I was a senior in high school. Now, I've graduated from college and moved to Minneapolis for a job. Crazy! Looking at the rest of the bands you guys have put, Kajagoogoo, Big Country, Thompson Twins, Wham! ... geez, I love them all! [Edited 5/28/05 22:51pm]

Even when you meet people who like the same bands, you get stick for liking the "wrong" albums or the old "...I prefered them when X was in the band or before they released album Y" or whatever.
If you tried to stick with what other people tell you, you'd have the smallest album collection ever!

Mariah Carey. I own them all, but keep them out of sight and only listen to them in private. When I purchased "Charmbracelet", I asked the cashier for a gift receipt so she wouldn't think it was for me. "She made me glad to be a man"
