janet's new album 'revelations' drops in august" Details of Janet Jackson's new album on the Def Jam label have been unveiled by Jermaine Dupri. Dupri, who has taken full production control of the project, explained to an eager legion of fans in Miami that the album, dubbed "Revelations", will be hitting stores in August. This news comes just a week after Jermaine revealed at the Def Jam Urban Festival that the album included 'some of Janet's finest material to date'.
So far, no single has been chosen to front the album, but the full tracklisting for the LP has been revealed . However, Dupri explained that the fans should expect a video for the chosen single 'sometime in June'. Def Jam took over management of Janet from Virgin Records late last year when her album "Damita Jo" failed to meet expectations. Jermaine also gave a sample of the talent contributing to "Revelations", including Timbaland & Missy Elliott, Darkchild, the Neptunes and P Diddy. The album is also to include collaborations with Fabulous, Kanye West and Jermaine himself. The conference also gave opportunities for fans to quiz Jermaine on his rumoured wedding with Janet, to which Dupri revealed; '...we are a happily married couple...' So far, fans have heard very little from Janet on the project, but Jermaine explained to fans that 'Janet is putting her all into this record and is thankful to all those who are sticking by her and her family through this difficult period... The album includes some very personal tracks that should set the story straight and reveal the truth...' This statement obviously relating to the infamous Micheal Jackson molestation trial and her 'wardrobe malfunction' at last years Superbowl. 'Revelations' is said to be Janets most personal record to date, but also her most creative, with genres including Pop, Rock, R'n'B, Rap and Hiphop all being sampled throughout the album. The album and single are both set for release sometime in August. Then again, I think any P Diddy is too much. Still I'm hoping for the best. :fingerscrossed:

This was posted on Janet Xone. It seems like a rumor.

This is an article that was posted on a music forum and is 100% certified BULLSHIT, ok people? Janet's next album will not be coming out until next year.
There are numerous errors here if you bother to look. For example, Janet is not signed to Def Jam, she is signed to EMI/Virgin. JD is also not going to announce their marriage at a press conference announcing the album (which has not been reported anywhere else? Don't think so!). Janet is also not going to hire P. Diddy after the disastrous mixes of Son Of A Gun. And finally, "My Baby (Part 2)"? Are ya'll out of your minds? [Edited 5/23/05 16:05pm]

PLEASE, people. That initial post was a WOEFULLY inaccurate laugh and a half. You got folks like me and Voices on the org. Your legitimate sources for Janet news are set. When you see one of my "NEWSFLASH," "YOU HEARD IT FIRST" or "EXCLUSIVE" threads, then you'll know what's real from fake. . [Edited 5/23/05 16:16pm]

HOW bad can the org get if people resort to posting fake JANET tracks?

i'm on my knees...and this time it is to pray that this is just rumour! i did see an interview with jimmy jamm stating that he and lewis would not be involved much, if at all, with the new project so i'm not expecting too much in that area. p diddy, neptunes, missy...oh, please lord, let this be a sham! i would be incredibly disappointed in janet is she ditched jamm and lewis for those clowns. i know my girl ain't gon' let me down like that. this has got to be a joke.

I like The Neptunes and Missy. they're alright but everything they touch sounds the same. i don't want janet to sound like everyone else on radio, i want her to sound like janet.

Jimmy & Terry better have the same influence as her last albums. After hearing about "My baby Pt.2" I was like..no
And yeah, Puff Daddy, yeah Puff dont produce anything on his own. It's usually Mario Winans or D. Dot Ange or sum1 like that. After listening to Damita Jo at work, I'm really liking it more. I still skip over Truly and moist, but otherwise it's still a hot record which was badly thrown bricks across the board at. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.
