Its funny thinkin back, cuz he was such a goofball playin "Roger" on the sitcom w/ JACKEE called SisterSister... [Edited 5/26/05 17:56pm] I saw it yesterday and I wasn't all that impressed with it. I agree with isthisdadawn, it wasn't creative. I thought he was going to be much more naked than that the way it was talked about but that didn't happen other than the side shot of his butt. Just plain boring. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Minus one album. Still, She's been using sex to promote her music since the nineties because now adays it sucks and she's doesn't have a singing voice, her voice sucks. The only thing now that she's got going for her is her dancing. Hopefully she will get her mind out of the gutter and make some music that isn't so crappy. She only released 2 albums in the 90's and she did not use sex to promote The Velvet Rope or All For You (2001). She promoted sensuality for janet. Damita Jo is a more sexual album, but in terms of promotion and vidEos for it, there was only one sexual video, "Don't Stop (All Nite)"

TurnItUp said: JANFAN4L said: Wrong. How many times are we gonna go over this, folks? janet. (1993) explored the various guises of love and relationships. The Velvet Rope (1997) was an introspective study dealing with self-worth. All For You (2001) was a playful album with Janet largely musing over finding the "right guy" and tracks about being newly single AFTER 9 years (which is largely 79% of the album -- sans the interludes). The only overtly sexual tracks (which, weirdly, folks think constitute the entire LP) come in the album's mid-section -- from "Love Scene (Ooh Baby)" climaxing with "Would You Mind" (...and that's only two tracks*!) Would you rather she be Hester Prynne and negate the intimate, passionate side of her life? For the sake of what, her own self-expression? I hate to be the sour grape of the group, but I'm not gonna have hot, sweaty monkey sex while listening to tracks like "Together Again," "You," "Got Til It's Gone," "Velvet Rope (feat. Vanessa Mae)," "This Time (feat. Kathleen Battle)," "Special," " "Empty," "What'll I Do," "Someone To Call My Lover," "All For You," "You Ain't Right," "Go Deep," "Free Xone," "Doesn't Really Matter," "Son of a Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You) (feat. Carly Simon)," "Better Days," "Feels So Right," "Come On Get Up," "Truth," "Whoops Now," "Funky Big Band," "Where Are You Now," "New Agenda (feat. Chuck D)," "Because of Love"... you catch my drift. BULLSHIT! The Janet album was just about her coming into her sexuality, aside from the few tracks you listed that was non-sexual the majority focused on sex. Her subsequent albums have focused mainly on sex. Come on with the bullshit. The Velvet Rope wasn't a completely sexual explicit record, but to answer the question of the orger that said how many songs were on there. The interlude where she is calling up one of her girlfriends like she is a guy and she starts moaning like she is masturbating on the phone and the girl says your coochie gone shrivel up and fall off and "Tonight's the night" was about a threesome between her a man and a woman. Rope Burn is another. I can't remember is My Need was another. "Tonight's the night" was not about a threesome. If you were a fan, you would know that [Edited 5/27/05 11:22am]

It was about a threesome. It wasn't about a threesome on Rod Stewart's version, but it DEFINITELY was with hers. The song starts out "what goes on between us is between me and you....and you. In the song she sings cause tonight GIRL and then later on in the song she changes to cause tonight BOY. It was about a menage a trois and not with two men. You need to get on with the BULLSHIT.

How many were there on 'The Velvet Rope'? formatting edit [Edited 5/26/05 7:18am] On Velvet Rope... Tonight's The Night (PG-13) Rope Burn (R) Anything (PG-13) Janet: Throb (R) Anytime Anyplace (PG-13) Body That Loves You (PG-13) All 4 U: Would U Mind (RRRR) Love Scene (Oooh Baby) (PG-13) Damita Jo: Sexhibition (R) Strawberry Bounce (R) Warmth (RRRRR) Moist (R) Rhythm Nation: Someday Is Tonight (R) Control: Funny How Time Flies (PG-13 but almost get the R rating) I agree with you with everything except for Someday is Tonight and Funny How Time Flies. Someday was a PG13 song it hardly compares to the latter adult stuff she did and at the end of Funny, now when I hear her moaning it sounds like she's having a tummy ache instead of sexual moaning. It sounded like she was shy and embarrased to be doing this on record and I can hear it. She didn't put herself into it until I heard Throb.

since the album sux, they should ban the whole thing. chris lighty, and rkelly producing the album... it's horrid.
artists should get jimmy and terry to produce their jams again, like it was in 1994-2000. BRING BACK SOLO!!! d'angelo was naked in the untitled video, and even said he was getting some head while he sang... hmmmm but that was a real artist, and not a "talent" like ol mh.

But anyway, I bet MH's people paid BET to say that its banned and not to play the video just to give MH's new album some publicity and hype.
BET has always shown different forms of nudity (remember that Janet video, that D'Angelo video, even recently in Destiny's Child's "Girl" video when Kelly cuffed her boyfriend naked - which was VERY sexy, and Em's videos). MH's video couldnt have been too bad to show afterhours like most of the more-exposed stuff they show on BET Uncut. And last video BET banned was Em's "Just Lose it" - Em was running and dancd naked in the video but that of course that ain't why they banned the video - MJ "didnt like it". Marques Houston is what some may consider as just another plain ol R&B artist. MH wants some of that Usher attention. And having his video "banned" will get him that. This time I agree with the Onion (though disagreeing was so much more fun). Getting the video banned is what they were going for. They know the guidlines. It was one of two scenes that crossed the line. One being the bathtub scene. The bad thing is it's not even hot. It's barely tepid. It just looked like some guy trying to fit his @$$ in the tub.

Hello! But for hetero naked and sexy...they should have just done something less staged. A guy sleeping naked is sexy. They should have gone for that. The waking up shot.
