True. Other people would have loved the show. I just have to agree with lots of what Isten said. She seemed very detached.
Me not liking the covers is just me. I know other people enjoyed it lots. Same with Prince. Some people thought the Bataclan show just so-so. It's all in the eye of the beholder.

She only spoke twice. First to tell us something about Holland being the number one countries when it comes to feminism (that's where Matt and Richard's remark stems from) but I disagree with her. It certainly coloured her choices for songs.

Second was before the Piano Bar songs. She said something like; "Well, people actually chose some good songs. I don't have to play them though, cuz I am a bitch."

Then she plays two of the most bland choices for covers she could make... rolleyes Of all the Joni Mitchell songs she plays the one she played a hundred times before and the DM song was, well, in my opinion uninspired and tediously long and repetitive. I'd rather she'd play Little Green and Halo (or Blue Dress).

Maybe I was a bit too hyped

Again... sad

I was really hoping for the best for you guys.

And yeah, she has been doing other more interesting Joni covers on this tour - River and The Circle Game at least.

I would love to see those. Even though I've heard her cover of "Lovesong" and seen her do "Purple Rain", those are still 2 of my favorites that she's done. And I wish bitch would just break down and give us "Condition of the Heart". It's not like it's too difficult for her or like she doesn't have it fully memorized already anyway. rolleyes

I know it's her favorite Prince song, so it seemed like a logical choice.

Funny story though. At the Detroit show during the Piano Bar segment, Sassy yelled out "Condition of the Heart!" And she was like, "Forget it! You're never gonna get it!" lol

So I wouldn't count on it.

Like the most!

But I have the sense that she's not really doing any of the requests that people are actually writing in for. I think she considers the city and mood she's in and plays what she already knows. It doesn't seem like she's stretching herself with these covers at all. Most of 'em anyway.

Unfortunately, I think you're right. I just don't think that many of the requests are actually making it.

I think some covers have been surprises like the Radiohead, Travis, Kylie Minogue, etc.

But I kinda doubt her audience was asking for singer-songwriter classic rock shit like Jim Croce and Bob Seger.

Plus, a lot of what she's been doing have been songs she's already performed on past tours.

I mean, don't get me wrong...she does a great job with her covers. But I thought she'd stretch out a little more than she has.

Couldn't agree more, although I was surprised by the Kylie and Madonna covers!

I know that's true! LoL
She just did a few special ones for special occasions (I am jealous of Tracy! I mean, she did LALALALALALALA in Oz, right?) but her choices seem awfully Tori.

She even admitted she did not play what the audience wanted.

i think the play on words is kinda funny. i have to wonder if she does that out of boredom or if she just links the songs together.

I've only gotten a few files from it so far. But it seems like she's quickly running out of covers. sad

One bit of info that I'm sure you already know is that the Chicago presale starts on Thursday. wink

apparantly toronto is not a die hard tori town. i just got 5th row seats (second row after the pit) on ebay. i paid a bit more than tmaster but not much - maybe 20 bucks or so.

yay! i haven't been to toronto since 1997 and ronnie's never been.

now i just need to get chicago tickets and detroit tickets that won't break the bank.
