Most of the stuff that goes to #1 these days is just plain awful, so I think you answered your own question.

She's just a lot of fun. No one is claiming she's a genius or has the best voice. It's all very much on the surface.

Now, explain to me what the big deal is with Linkin Park and Evanescence!

nod

Her style and sound are totally superficial, but she comes off as weirdly genuine and accessable. I've always said Gwen reminds me of your best friend's really hot older Sister. She has such charm. I find it strange that anyone could hate her.

Honestly, Gwen Stefani has become a lifeless uninspiring performer and artist with her solo shit.

With No Doubt her energy on stage was amazing. It was completely differened then how she is now. Now she hangs around with these Harajuku Girls, and it's just fucking stupid.
With No Doubt it seemed she had a purpose (plus actually good music) while now it seems like she's competing with Britney and Ashlee Simspon. It's fucking ridiculous

Solo Gwen Stefani is like the Cyndi Lauper of today. She's just a fun energetic cute punky pop girl. She's about a million times better than any other pop female out there today--and with No Doubt she is the lead singer of a kick ass band.

Her new shit isn't meant to be rocket science or deep music--just fun pop stuff to dance to. If you don't like it, then the album probably wasn't intended for you anyway.

If Madonna and Cyndi Lauper and Blondie had a child it'd be Gwen Stefani. Deal with it. She's hot.

Gwen cannot by Cyndi considering she doesn't have the vocal power to do so.
And she tries way to hard and it doesn't work

The "uh oh" vocal element on "Serious" sounds like it was ripped off from an Aqua album (in fact it sounds like Lene herself sings the line).

I'm sorry, but the group that is responsible for "Cartoon Heroes" will never win any quality battles. That has to be one of the worst pieces of music ever put to record. ill

There's more creativity in it than Hollaback Girl.
Honestly, at least Aqua were original, unlike Gwen

Ok, why are we fighting over 1 fucking horrible song, anyway? Gwen's album has several of 'em.

And there is absolutely NOTHING about L.A.M.B. that is original. It sounds compiled from spare parts of 80's new wave LP's. All into one big mishmash that's a total mess as an album. The title reflects it.

Her solo cd has some of the stupidest lyrics ever written by a so-called "artist". Anyone who actually likes "Rich Girl" really says something about their intelligence level.
