Oh well. He can be funky I know that, but then he goes too corny. That's a bold, if wildly unpopular, statement. 2 each his own! I still like U. Besides, give him a chance someday. He may grow on U. [Edited 5/20/05 19:16pm] One spin of any of these albums can turn a bad day into a really great one for me. All I had to do was listen to Innervisions once all the way through to be converted. "Innervisions" is his masterpiece.... STEVIE IS BADD!!!!

There is delicious irony there - check out your fucking musical catalogue! I thought you thrived on the most corny and syrapy (sic) shit imaginable. [Edited 5/20/05 19:05pm] This (sic) you wrote, what does it mean? I always wanted to know.

Anxiety said: i'll go out on a limb here and agree. i mean, what the hey - it's only opinion, right?
i feel about stevie the way a lot of my non-prince-freak fans feel about prince: i think he's amazingly talented and brilliant - most likely a bona fide genius - but i really only like some of the hits, and after a certain point in his back catalog, i'm not really interested in what he's released. i really would like to get some of his legendary '70s albums and really give them a good listen someday - until then, i'm happy with my copy of 'original musiquarium'. For years, I used to feel the same way about Stevie Wonder. I could either take his music or leave it. I bought "Hotter Than July" back when it was in style and love the whole album all the way through. In the 1990s, I bought "Original Musiquarium" which is a really good greatest hits collection. I was happy with my Stevie Wonder "collection" I had (2 albums) for years. After hearing rave reviews of the 1970s albums from several orgers who have a lot of the same tastes that I do, I recently bought all of the 1970s albums I could find on CD in recent months. The ones I purchased were: Talking Book Innervisions Fulfillingness' First Finale Songs In The Key Of Life After buying these albums, my favorite Stevie Wonder album is still "Hotter Than July" (the one I already had). As an indvidual with my own personal tastes, I liked certain tracks on the recently purchased albums, and others I didn't like. I like "Hotter Than July" all the way through and I still don't like the others all the way through. But, each time I listen to one of the recently purchased albums, a different song grows on me. Who knows, maybe the rest of the complete albums will grow on me because I haven't heard anything on them that is absolutely unbearable like I've heard from Stevie in the late 1980s and 1990s. By the way, I didn't like "Hotter Than July" all the way through back in the day. It took years for the entire album to grow on me. Out of my recent purchases, the two that I like best so far are "Songs In The Key Of Life" and "Talking Book". Andy is a four letter word.

That's what I like about him. He isn't afraid to voice his opinion, regardless if everyone else disagrees with him. I don't think he will like the 1970s albums even if he did sit down and listen to them because I've seen the type of music he likes and these albums don't fit in with that style. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

WOW! Yall better get off of Stevie!! lol
But I can agree to a point that some of Stevie's love ballads can be a bit syrypy(i.e. For Your Love, I Just Called .etc) but I think that you can only express love in so many ways until it becomes a bit recycled..BUT BUT BUT Stevie is the man! Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I think Stevie is one of the most briliant and innovative artist in the history of recorded music..just my opinion
