the only time i really see "ugly" as a negative thing is when someone's clearly destroying herself in a futile, desperate bid to look more 'beautiful' - like the olsen twins or twiggie richie or lindsay hohan.
there are some women who NEED to look a little ragged, just cuz it's rock'n'roll and sometimes rock'n'roll needs to be ugly. i didn't WANT wendy o. williams to look dainty and pretty, any more than i want brody from the distillers to look like a barbie doll or any more than i want diamanda galas to bleach her hair blonde and start wearing aqua blue tube tops. sometimes i need my rock'n'roll superbitches to have big droopy boobies and a black eye. if courtney love were well-behaved and lived a graceful, clean lifestyle, let's face it, we wouldn't give a good god damn about her. | |
