yeah, but thats for lyrics, she did not write the music for borderline or any of the other songs.

Hence the term "cowriting credit" wink

Regardless, she certainly wrote more than "Lucky Star" on her own.

Scratch "Borderline" altogehter! Reggue Lucas was originally solely given credit for it (originally). But the songs listed she wrote soley!

ummm no she hasnt, its been said even on madonna fan sites that 'luscky star' is the only song shes written all by herself, music and everything. she might of written the lyrics by herself on a lot of songs, but im talking music. lucky star is the only song shes ever written the music for by herself

Uhhhhh I don't care what gossip is spread on a fan board! She receives sole writing credit for the above songs, hence she's the SOLE WRITER (lyrics and music). Do you see? Check the fucking liner notes if you don't believe me. lol

nod I would be shocked if anyone posting on those message boards was in the room with a then unknown Madonna in 1982-1983!

Well, thanks for getting to the point of your opinion instead of trying to deny the facts biggrin

im sorry, i still dont believe she wrote all those songs by herself (meaning the music) i have heard it stated all the time that the only song she wrote by herself was (again meaning lyrics AND music)'lucky star'.

I've 'heard' a lot of things, too, so they must be true!

I heard rene elizondo (whatever janets hubbie name was) wrote those solely written songs with her infact. I noticed "black cat" was solo janet. But now i dont beleive that. Not that that song is much to write about anyway.

But really, why people like madonna's lyrics is because they can relate to them. So its all good. But interesting lyrics they are not

I know, why take Janet or Madonna lyrics when you can listen to true profundity?

Like Bros. Or Donny Osmond.

Right? Right.

great Pop songs should be easy to sing along with and easy to remember.

Madonna writes great pop songs.

Patrick Leonnard has stated that sometimes she'll come in with a melody and she would sing it to him and he'd transpose it and write a song from that.

I don't think she only contributes the lyrics. There is probably alot of give and take in the songwriting process.

Is Bernie Taupin or Tim Rice any less of a songwriter because they only came with the lyrics?

are Elton John and Andrew Llyod Webber any better because they only right the music?
You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna
authentic power is service- Pope Francis

I think she should've developed her skills as a composer by now(in 20 years). But that's also a good quality to admire, because she never fucked her music up just to show she can compose alone.

I'll take a better album, over a better artist anyday nod

I think you need to research Madonna a little better.

Madonna has written the music on several of her songs solely, and she also has input with the produced as to the actual music.
Research the facts.

fine i guess im wrong, i have no idea how to look up writing credits on the net, i would only know if i had madonnas cds, but i dont, so i cant check. even if madonna has helped with alot of songs, im talking about SOLEY DOING THE WHOLE ENTIRE SONG FROM START TO FINISH EVERY LITTLE DETAIL FROM MUSIC TO LYRICS BY HERSELF.....and plus i've never even heard the song 'La Isla Bonita' so i guess im not one to judge if the lyrics are good or not.

My friend, they posted a list before

-Lucky Star
-Burning Up
-I Know It
-Think Of Me
-Everybody
-Shoo-Bee-Doo
-Pretender

These were all solely Madonna's work, except she didn't produce them.

Madonna is not friggin Prince in the musician department, but compare her to the pop stars of today and you'll see that no one puts the amount of work into her albums like she does.
