Baduizm Live

This live CD is the bomb and one of the best in my collection. It's so personal, so raw...I can't describe. Her talking to the audience makes it all the more fun to listen to and sets the mood. All the music is awesome, but Other Side of the Game really does something extra for me. Her tribute to funk and Chaka Khan was nice. Tyrone is fun live, but the studio version sucks. JUst love this baby. I wonder if Prince is into Badu? He always talks about lesser artists like Alicia Keys and such, but does he ever mention Badu? Keys has nothing on Badu.

I've got a bootleg-recording of a Dallas afterparty-jam (thanks to Calhounsq!)where Prince jams together with Erykah....so, I think he digs her!

Hi doctormario...
Don´t you know that she performed at the second celebration at PaisleyPark?
And P & the NPG covered Badu´s Didn´t Cha Know during the ONA tour.
I saw Badu at a concert in Hamburg...great show, even though I´m glad she stopped all that sermonizing and pseudo teaching, trying to enlighten ppl with some weird, halfbaked theories. Too much ego. but I love all her cds.

she was at on of the Celebrations and she also had the official Prince afterparty at her theater in Dallas. They are mad cool.

From what I understand there are a couple of bootlegs out of Prince and Erykah...

I'm new fans of both artists, so I'm constantly learning everyday. No, I've never heard 17 Days and don't have all of her CD's yet(or PRince's), but I'm working on it.

i loves me some erykah, the two times I have seen her live were at the afterparties in dallas.

the last one she was like 8 months pregnant and glowing, the girl sang her ASSSSS off and P was upstairs in the balcony lovin it!!

Great exprience, she was on stage with him back in 02, but this time she had the stage to herself.

Was this the same aftershow that P jammed with Badu on? Man, I wish I'd been there!

When Prince came to Dallas the for the first Musicology show, Erykah came on stage during the "dancehall" portion of 'Life O' the Party' and performed Southern Girl. That shit was beautiful!!!!!

I have to agree about "Other Side Of The Game". The live version is hypnotic. This CD trumps the original in my opinion. I didn't really care about "Tyrone", but I loved "Next Lifetime" live. Overall I'm glad her label let her drop this. It helped me gain a deeper respect for her abilities as a vocalist.

sure, but she hasn't made a good record since Mama's Gun (which really was so-so).....when will her career really take off? Worldwide Underground was as incoherent as an album can get!

any news about a new release?

nod, I heart that album. Got it as a gift and still play it 'til this day.

The whole disc is quality, but my standouts are:

Stay (she did a remarkable job)
Boogie Nights (this grooved)
Next Lifetime
Apple Tree
Tyrone
The Other Side of The Game (I love how it opens up instrumentally)

That Chaka/Rufus cover solidified her as a kick-ass vocalist.
