My prayers and thoughts go not only to Kylie but to all those here as well who are or have been affected by this disease in one way or another.

In my circle of family and friends i have seen them either lose their life to this terrible disease or who have successfully beaten it.
We do need a cure for cancer as well as many other diseases.

I will put my Kylie concert tickets away for now and wait for the good news that she has recovered and is ready to tour again.

To all here on the org i wish you all good health grouphug
WHY SHOULD I DO THAT, WHEN I CAN DO THIS

I am not disrespecting Kylie as she's my favourite female pop musician, but fortunately for her she has the money to fight this cancer and probably come out well. Have you ever noticed how famous people who get cancer always "miraculously" get better, while regular people who have to wait for their treatments on the public healthcare system for ages often do not?

mammograms in the under 50 are not that useful btw as the breast tissue is too dense and has lots of glanduler tissue changes

which is why women have to check there breasts, if you see a mammogram done on a young women it looks like there are lumps everywhere.

very true. Doctors discovered a lump in my breast last year (and I am 21!!) and I went in for a breast ultrasound - not a mammogram - for exactly that reason. thankfully it turned out to be nothing.

in any case, this is horrible news for Kylie. I hope she makes a full recovery.

Natsume! wave Good to see you here! nod Glad everything's ok.

My mom had skin cancer, but they got it all (they think). And my favorite aunt died of an inoperable brain tumor. sad It seems everyone knows someone who has dealt with it, it's so widespread. sad

My mom, however, is recovering very well! Only 2 more chemo treatments to go! woot! And her cancer count or whatever that test is, is down to 11 when before her surgery it was over 50. Yay mom!

That's good to hear. nod

I can't say I'm a big fan of hers, but this is sad anyway. I pray she recovers quickly and lives to have an extensive career and long life. I believe Olivia Newton-John was also diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, but it was detected early, treated, and she had a complete recovery. I hope that happens with Kylie too.

The sad thing is that I picked up a couple of our newspapers here in the UK 2day and theres nothing in them regarding this!!! shocked shocked

Listen folks!! I apologize if I seemed heartless with my post earlier on 2day regarding this!! I am not heartless and cruel!! Hell, I have sickness and disease in my family 2 cope with!!! I was just saying that it seems that places like the USA and Australia beleive in early detection and yet the UK still wants 2 wait untill its virtually too late!! Maybe Kylie, once she has recovered, will champion the cause for earlier detection of this dreadful soul-destroying disease in this country!!

My thoughts and Prayers go out wholesouled 2 Kylie and her family during her time of treatment and recovery!!

Once again, I apologize!!

Nova ~ it may be true that people with money have access to more advanced treatment, but many, many wealthy people die from it ~ I am thinking of Gildna Radner and Micheal Landon at the moment. It is a horrible disease that doesn't discriminate. A close friend of mine is struggling with it now and the prognosis is not good. Prayers and love to all of you who are helping loved ones fight this or have lost someone to cancer.

It won't be in the UK papers today 5/17, but tomorrow 5/18. Remember that Austrilia is almost a day ahead of the States, and I believe almost 12+ hours ahead of the UK.

Therefore if it said it came out in the morning, it was morning for them.

That is coz the news broke about 7.00 this morning after the papers had gone to print. No doubt in the USA that would not happen.
Once again you do not know what happend or how and when she was diagnosed so reel your neck in

This is just awful. Poor thing. sad I'm glad she's taking the necessary break to get it all sorted out.

But I'm majorly bummed for my brother and dearest Tracy who spent a small fortune to see her at 4 of her upcoming shows.

So sorry guys.

I read this and after thinking about her and how she will get along I thought about the reaction over here. Sounds like she caught it very early and should be OK. She'll come out of this strong, I hope. Get well, Kylie!

I'm heartbroken for her. sad I wish her the quickest and fullest of recoveries. The money I could potentially lose from the forfeiture of tickets is nothing compared to her health.

Get well soon, Kylie. You have millions pulling for you. pray

Do you ever pray for anyone who isn't famous and is suffering from breast cancer?

Thought not!
