I also know I am not the only one who thinks Me'shell last good CD was Plantation Lullabies. I think most of the CD buying public agrees with me.

With all the respect, based on what? What is great about Me'Shell is that each and every cd she made is completely different from the other, it is hard to pigeon-hole her. Personally, I think she's has gotten better with everyone of them, not wanting to say she was ever not not good! You can simply not compare 'PL' to 'Bitter', or 'Peace Beyond Passion' to 'Cookie...', etc. The best is that she does not give a fuck of what you or I think, and keeps evolving! If you dig that and you're open for it, she'll take you on a trip!

Based on declining record sales. Which are not everything but damm here is a talented person who has gone out of her way to her music unlistenable and inaccessble. I know a lot of people who use to dig Me'Shell but I don't know how much longer she is going to be recording with a major label.

Some people's opinions are HILARIOUS to me...Record sales is an indicator of NOTHING in terms of music

the assumption that since the record buyng public ONLY bought the "Plantation Lullabies" album ,therefore its better is a J O K E !

if that is right, Gwen Stefani, 50 Cent and all the other hip hop crap is the BEST music on the planet because it sales in droves! PLZ...record sales indicates NOTHING concerning music..IMO.."Plantation Lullabies" was Meschell's weakest effort..in Prince terms, "Lullabies" was the FOR YOU among a slew of "Sign O The Times", "Dirty Minds" and "Controversys" biggrin

You know what it is my opinion. I don't enjoy MeShell's music. I don't think the vast majority of the music buying public enjoys it either. I am not even going to comment on the For You to Lullabies comparision.

There's a lot of great music that does not sell that well but, a decade of declining sales is indication that something might be wrong. I also find the music unenjoyable to listen to. Bitter was so depressing and sad. I hate the Fuckadelic covers.

It is MeShell's music and she should do what is musically pleasing to her but, it is not musically pleasing to my ears.

"a decade of declining sales is indication that something might be wrong."

ROTFL says who?

lets take Prince's sales from 1978-1988....Peaked at "Purple Rain" and dropped off CONSIDERABLY afterwards....so what exactly does that mean? Was Prince self indulgent? sure...had he always been self indulgent? sure.....BUT can u say that ATWID-Lovesexy are bad albums? HECK NO...they just weren't commercial and didnt connect with the mainstream but does that make them bad cuz they didnt connect with the mainstream? NO! What exactly does connecting with the mainstream in terms of sales mean? NOTHING! lol

the assumption that sales = good quality music is HILARIOUS...
