Herb Alpert "keep your eye on me"

I found this in a junk shop. Some of the tracks are quite good. I got it as I saw jam and lewis helped out on this album. Ironically the janet jackson tracks "diamonds" and "making love in the rain" are dull filler. "trffic jam" "hot shot" and the title trakc are much better.

My dad was shocked when I said I bought a herb alpert record. I asked "why dont u have any herb", he replied "because he's crap". Fair enough (my dad likes jazz but not him i gather neutral )

get it if u love scores to most of eddie murphy 80's comedies, as the instrumentals are very tin can sounding. Which reminds me of say "coming to america" etc.....but avoid if u get it for the janet tracks.

Are you kidding? "Diamonds" and MLITR are the best tracks on there. Many of the rest sound like Miami Vice castoffs (maybe that's why you like them).

wow. Someone owns this album? I wonder why eh voices? razz Come on, "making love in the rain" in particular sucks. U have no respect for instrumentals it seems, which is fair enough.

Yeah "miami vice" is a good comparison.

"diamonds" is lazy. Its nothing more then a dull groove with some bland lyrics.

Jam and lewis should be ashamed, as I love them guys.

I have no respect for instrumentals? confuse No, I have no respect for shitty instrumentals. Diamonds is an awesome dose of funk and MLITR is the sexiest, smoothest slow jam on that LP. Please tell me why the Miami Vice knockoffs are better? I mean you actually prefer the clunky-ass Pillow or the lame Keep Your Eye On Me (which borrows instrumental elements from Diamonds and its mixes, but I'm sure you didn't notice that)?

Yeah, she's no.....Debbie Gibson. confuse

Ok, then. lol

yeah debbie vocally is not so good. Lets not compare debbie to janet now. Tsk, voices, another cheap shot at me. In debbies defence, she puts more emotion into her shit then janet does. Particually on say "diamonds". She just seems to emote nothing at times.

But at least janet knows not to oversing on ballads. She knows she cant bless her wink

"Diamonds" is supposed to have robotic vocals. It's a robotic groove about an icy bitch who uses men for cash. What the fuck kind of emotion do you expect? lol

Voices, u'll find all of janets vocals are robotic. In other words, all overdubs and studio wizardry thanx to jam and lewis. Heck paula can sing better then janet.

lol Mmmmmmkay then. I ain't getting into a Janet argument with you. You can't fault her vocals on Diamonds because that is what the song requires.

I like janet vocally. SHe knows her shitty range and stays in it. Thats why "again" is cool, as anyone else would go overboard. She didn't and frankly couldn't. Also tracks like "where are u now" are nice for the same reason. I love that song. Proberly my all time fav of hers.

Hmmmmm. I failed to see the irony in that sentance.
