Damn straight I remember that Cherry buffness nod drool

Those two tracks were her biggest hits (in the U.K. anyway shrug ), , from her debut album. Can't remember what it was called now, sumfin' "...Sushi..." or other shrug

This fittness also had another global hit collaborating with Youssou N'Dour ( excuse the spelling sigh ) on his track (I think it's his track confuse ) called '7 Seconds'. Such a stong track cool

(Sorry about all the obscure and unsure info. there neutral )

thumbs up!

I think Neneh and Eagle-Eye are both really gorgeous and talented. Neneh looks quirky cute but still a strong woman. Manchild, Woman and 7 seconds are amazing...

nod Great song. It's actually Neneh's track with Youssou featured on vocals. It's from the '96 CD Man. Great album.

The Homebrew record had the best jams out of all her LPs, IMO. You had great tracks such as "Buddy X," "Money Love" and "Trout (feat. Michael Stipe)." Sadly, she never really topped that record. I'm still waiting for her return.

7 Seconds first appeared on Youssou N'Dour's 1994 album The Guide.

Man should have been released domestically in the US, but it was not. Neneh is an underappreciated artist if ever there were one. Were it not for here, artists like Portishead, Massive Attack, Morcheeba, Mono and even Björk wouldn't have had any of the success they did. She was making headway in their style of music before they hit the scene. She was almost forced out of the music scene by her struggle with Lyme disease shortly after the release of her first album.

Unfortunately, the success of Buffalo Stance (and, no doubt, a record company that wasn't sure how to market her) pigeonholed her as a light rapper in the eyes of many listeners. Their loss, because she's one of the most innovative artists of the late 80s and early 90s. Yeah, she's a great emcee, but she's also an excellent songwriter, producer, arranger and can carry a tune.

Today, I feel like Man is her best album, but ask me tomorrow and I'll say Homebrew is. All three of her sets are superb. Homebrew incorporated some jazz influence into her sound courtesy of Guru from Gangstarr. Of those songs on that album, Sassy, I Ain't Gone Under Yet and Move with Me (cowritten by Lenny Kravitz) are my favorites.

She also released some great tracks on various compilations, some of which would later show up on her own album. Her take on Marvin's Trouble Man is good. Her reworking of I Got U Under My Skin from the Red Hot + Blue album is mindbending to me. Twisted Mess got no attention, because it was in a movie that bombed, Best Laid Plans. Nonetheless, it's a great song.

I could go on and on (and I have), but I won't. She's been a favorite of mine for many years now. I do secretly wonder if she ever regrets naming her son after Mike Tyson.
hmmm

I liked Neneh back in the day myself. I also liked her work with The Slits and then her stint in the Funky Post-Punk band, Rip Rig & Panic.
