I downloaded her single a month ago - can't remember what it's called, but it was good enough to make me remember her after seeing the video. very smooth and lovely
another cool video was Abandoned Pools ('Remedy'?). kinda Pumpkins-esque, I thought

I love her CD. Picked it up after it was officially announced she would be in attendance at this year's Celebration. I have been pumping it daily in the rotation at the office. It got so bad two other co workers of mine have gone out and bought her CD! Lela "Zeinabau" Jefferson

I was also delighted when I heard her music for the first time about a month or so ago. I really should go buy her album.

Ditto what everyone else has said about this classy album...Just when you've had it with all the crappy music we've been exposed to of late..out of left-field comes this sophisticated album of classic sounding tracks with a certain freshness to it!!!

this is the 2nd NJ thread I've seen here, which I take as a promising sign (I posted on the other 1)
Any of you thinking about buying the album but haven't yet- DO IT. Good music overall, several good "make-out" cuts.. She's quite talented, & BEAUTIFUL to boot. She's going to be in DC on the 21st; I plan to see her then. She should be very good, for years to come. I'll see you tonight..

I'll give it a shot with the trax I remember...(the CD's out in my car and am to lazy to go grab it)...but here goes... Track 1: "DONT KNOW WHY"-First single is the perfect breezy introduction to an overall BREEZY album. It starts out with light and lazy drums and piano and has such a catch chorus. For some reason reminds me of something Carole King could have done on her jazzier 70's releases. Track 2: "SEVEN YEARS"-Cant really remember alot about this one but it's a folky guitar track Track 3: "COLD COLD HEART"-A finger snappin jazz remake of the Hank Willams Sr. classic. I almost didnt recognize this at first...she truly makes it her own song!!! Track 4: "FEELIN' THE SAME WAY"-The first and probably the only faster track on the entire album. Very radio-friendly summer-y/driving song that reminds me of something off Natalie Merchant's TIGERLILLY. Track 5: "COME AWAY WITH ME"- My personal fav. Very dreamy & perfect for that slow dance under a moonlit sky and that FIRST KISS! Okay so I've daydreamed many times with this song. Perfect for use in a great romantic movie! Track 8: "SHOOT THE MOON"-Sorry! Caint rememba this one! Track 7: "TURN ME ON"-Norah gettin bluesy on this one!!! After track 5...this one can get you from the FIRST KISS to the FIRST NIGHT GETTIN IT ON!!! Track 8: "LONESTAR"-Traditional Country Western tune done in Norah's own lush style. "Lonestar...where are you out tonight?" is the first line... And to be honest...I'll have to listen to the rest of the 14 trax to get my honest feelings towards them...I've heard the album all the way thru only 2-3 times since I got it...so forgive me but anyone feel free to add your comments or feelings...it mos def THE album to run out and get!!! And you may still find it at a low price!!! (Price has gone up to regular list price in many retailers) Every minute of last night is on my face today....

Or higher! Went 2 a major retailer today and it was $18.99, $8 more than the initial "buzz" price. Copped it from half.com, though. Can't wait 2 hear it. PEACE
