Auditions planned for 'Making the Band 3' Friday, May 6, 2005
ASSOCIATED PRESS NEW YORK -- Get ready for "Making the Band 3." Sean "P. Diddy" Combs will continue his reality TV talent search to form and develop an all-girl group, MTV and Combs announced Thursday. "Get ready for the next season of "Making the Band,' 'cause believe me, we're gonna make a band," Combs said in a statement. The hip-hop mogul will continue his search for contestants to compete against three returning cast members. Production will begin with open call auditions starting later this month in New York. "Season one showed our viewers that landing a spot in P. Diddy's next group requires incredible drive, determination and star power," said Lois Curren, executive vice president, MTV Series Entertainment. "As Combs' quest for an all-girl group continues, we invite our viewers who aspire to stardom to pack their bags and audition in a city near them." Contestants are judged on their dancing ability, vocal talent, star power and willingness to be part of a group. Those who don't meet Diddy's standards are eliminated. Auditions also will be held in Washington, Detroit, Minneapolis, Dallas, San Francisco, Virginia Beach, Va., and Orlando, Fla. http://www.freep.com/news...050506.htm

did the winners from seasons 1 & 2 make a cd? maybe i just overlooked them...why the hell would you go through all that boolshit on tv to make a cd that won't sell? at least if you try out for American Idol, you might be able to shag a judge you look better on your facebook page than you do in person

Why do they call it "Making a Band" if they are not playing all their own instruments and writing all their own music?

Diddy already had a band, New Edition, but he screwed them just liek the rest of his artists.

Couldn't have said it any better. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Season 1, was the boy band called O-town. They did alright a few years back when that whole boy band thing was in. They went double-gold and platinum....don't ask how I know this. But P.Diddy had nothin' to do with O-town.....only season 2 and 3. Season 2 had P Diddy's group, Da Band, but they never got off of the ground. They sold a few copies, but I think P Diddy disbanded them and kept only two members. Don't know if this rings a bell for you, since all boybands pretty much look the same, but this is O-town. they had "All Or Nothing" and "Liquid Dreams" trust me...I am not an O-town fan looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

I could have sworn I saw episodes of a new "Making the Band" where he was looking for a girl group and the last episode I remember seeing had P. Diddy pissed at the girls he had choosen and thinking he had to do more auditions and possiibly find more and get rid of the some of the originals. He also found a gay guy to look after the girls he had choosen...and he bragged in their place and didn't even tell them anything...
So can my parents TV see the future....if so, no wonder they pay so damn much for basic cable!

The original show, I think, started on ABC but had low ratings so MTV bought it....I know that "Band 2" was all on MTV and was all about P. Diddy.

It was his way of boosting his own personal status. Kinda like this all girl group out now. As if he didn't learn enough from his previous failed girl group Dream. I thought they were gonna last a little bit longer than what they did. oops [Edited 5/6/05 20:46pm] looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

So can my parents TV see the future....if so, no wonder they pay so damn much for basic cable! Diddy just put that gay man (forgot his name) on there for ratings.....knowing he was gonna cause drama. And he's so superficial when it comes to picking the girls. The first few episodes, you sould've heard some of the things he was sayin' about the girls, while he was watching them behind the scenes. Things that could've really crushed their self esteemed if they had heard it. A lot of the stuff he was saying had absolutely nothin' to do with talent, he was getting on them for their physical appearance. One girl from Atlanta could really sing, but according to him, she had to lose a few pounds in order to make it. Another example of why most mainstream music is horrible, because to them appearance overules talent. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

I had a ball watching the season that just ended. It's hilarious watching P.Diddy criticize these girls when his own musical talent is questionable. He can't rap or dance, and his "skills" as a producer consists of excessive sampling and programming beats.
