the NEW Marcus Miller CD..."SILVER RAIN" Has anyone bought the new Marcus Miller CD titled: SILVER RAIN? It is E X C E L L E N T....it features Eric Clapton on the title track...as well as Lalah Hathaway singing on one of the tracks. Most interesting on this CD is that there's quite a few remakes. Stevie's BOOGIE ON REGGAE WOMAN is SOO funked out on here.... FRANKENSTEIN by Edgar Winter is remade as is Prince's GIRLS AND BOYS(lead by Macy Gray), Luther's IF ONLY FOR ONE NIGHT but the BEST remake has to be of Jimi Hendrix's POWER TO LOVE. Marcus just takes this song to another level..if u have the CD, what do you think of it? I think its a CLASSIC!

Smelt it already and it smellz like another Grammy. Still haven't gotten over M2. Nikki's Jam stays on my playlist. And now this!

OMG!! I cant beleive yall are sleepin on this CD!!!!! Actually it might be a good time for the Jazz artists to promote with videos. There are so many new possibilities in terms of broadcasting them. Good thing is that the tracks get stronger everytime you listen to them. That's the case with all of Marcus' stuff so even if it takes some a little time to get around to it, the tracks will never be dated. Hell yeah! I'm really feelin' "Bruce Lee"! I like his cover of "Frankenstein", too. And yes, the track "Girls Et Boys" is a decent Prince cover. I think Bruce Lee & Power of Soul are my two favorites, though. He did a nice job with "Boogie On Reggae Woman", too. [Edited 5/15/05 12:17pm] | |
