Gwen Stefani hits #1 on the Hot 100!

"Hollaback Girl" is the new #1 song on the Hot 100 chart. Not my favorite song by her, but I am happy for her success.

50 Cent spent 9 weeks at #1 with "Candy Shop". I hate him!

The songs's a lot of fun. No better or worse than "Hey Mickey," dontcha think? The bananas bit clinches it for me.

Good for her! She's definitely heading for the Top 10, which "It's Like That" failed to do.

how long do we have to wait until she releases "Bubble Pop Electric" as a single? i mean "Hollaback Girl" is weak compared to the other tracks on the album. Pharrell Williams has already done better work than that.

That's dumbass radio for you. Worst song on the album, so it had to make number one! At least this might mean that more singles are coming and they already released (IMHO) the two worst songs as singles already, so we'll have to wait and see.

They won't, though. This might be proof that dance pop is dead. Her "hip-hop" singles did well..."What You Waiting For" kind of tanks. I guess that's the state of music (it's certaintly the state of Clear Channel's lineup).

That's right. Give the people a little power and look what happens. As if the American public could choose songs that were any better than the ones radio programmers made #1. We re-elected George W. for chrissakes. neutral

Oh hell yes! "Hollaback Girl" is a definite standout from L.A.M.B., even though I like "What You Waiting For" better. In any case, I'm glad that "Rich Girl" has run its course. barf

I sort of knew that it would do well. It's sounds like almost everything else out there...so why wouldn't it.

BUT there are SO so many better songs on that album...Cool, Serious, Luxurious (how about a great ballad?), Heck I'd even say Harijuku Girls or Bubble Pop Electric would have been better if not interesting choices. Even Crash...which is sort of obnoxious...has that Salt n Peppa vibe to it that would go over well.

based on that thinking...Luxurious should be next. It's R&B enough.

Its not supposed to be earth shattering! Its just supposed to make you dance withoout having to think about anything. Its a guilty pleasure song. It means nothing. Its just supposed to make you happy and dance. Thats all.

Cuz it sounds like something she would proably do with No Doubt. It's not as pretentious as the rest of the album.
