50 Cent Makes Music History With 4 Songs On Same Top 10 Charts

Taken from the latest Jet Magazine, April, 18, 2005:

Rap star 50 cent is keeping company with the most elite. The East Coast hip-hop performer recently became the first artist since the Beatles 2 have four songs on the same Top 10 chart.

Candy Shop featuring Olivia and Disco Inferno and another two Songs, Hate It Or Love It and How We Do both featuring his protégé the Game, held four places on the Top 10, making him the first artist in 41 years 2 accomplish the feat.

The last time an artist had four singles on the Top 10 chart was in 1964 when the Beatles held the top five spots on the same Top 10 charts with the songs, Can’t Buy Me Love , Twist and Shout, She Loves You, I Want To Hold Your Hand and Please Please Me.

Born Curtis Jackson, the Southside Jamaica, Queens, native hasn’t cooled off since the release of his second CD, The Massacre. In just a month the project has already sold more than 2 million copies.

I really don’t like this guy. Can’t figure out how shit like this happens and 2 even be mention along side the Beatles is absolutely crazy. Make him go away!!! omfg

I've never heard these 50 cent songs but those Beatles songs aren't all that good either. I guess that tells you all you need to know about Top 10 charts.

Yes, Ivy, Yes! I hate the Beatles. Can't stand a single song I've heard of theirs. nod Plus, a lot of Beatles fans (not all) insist that you must have a screw loose if you don't like their music. mad

I grew up listening 2 the overrated Beatles. U really didn’t have much of a choice since they dominated the airwaves back in the day. The Beatles have made some beautiful songs that I truly love, but none of the ones mentioned above. The Beatles could do no wrong and the way its going 50 seems 2 be heading in the same direction thanks 2 the younger generation. Now u have this over exposed, no talented rap artist grinning all the way 2 the bank. shocked pissed fuse

nod People can get really pricky about the "infallibles". nod

Add to my list of hated "classics":

AC/DC
The Eagles
The Beach Boys
Pink Floyd
Elvis Presley
Bob Dylan

While I don't like their music at all, nor do I like the Beatles, I can understand and recognize the impact that they have had. Their music just doesn't do it for me- at all.

There is a difference between not liking an artist and not respecting an artist.

I don't like the Beatles.

I don't respect 50 Cent.

lol

Just curious, what Beatles songs have you heard? I find that most people who say the Beatles are overrated have only ever heard the pop-y boybandish, pre-Dylan, pre-drugs music. In which case, I don't blame them at all. There's only so often one can listen to them plead to Hold Your Hand. razz

Of course, you're entitled to your own opinion. But if you've heard the "good" Beatles material and still can't see it's worth, then I'm entitled to think you're nutty. wink

I was gonna say I don't like Dylan but I didn't want no bricks flying to my head. lol I can't stand Elvis music either.

I actually like "Hate It Or Love It". Good beat.

Thinking how they spend 30 million dollars on airplanes
When there's kids starving
Pac is gone, and Brenda still throwing babies in the garbage
I wanna know what's going on like I hear Marvin
No school books
They use their wood to build coffins

As opposed to the bullshit rappers like 50 and the Game spend their money on, say like jewelry. lol

The beat was all I could find enjoyable.
In fact, I was sitting in my brother's barber chair on Saturday afternoon and we talked about how a lot of good beats are simply waisted on 'ol Curtis.
