Arcade Fire- Funeral
Björk- Vespertine Iron & Wine- Woman King Franz Ferdinand- Franz Ferdinand Roisin Murphy- Sequins EP's The White Stripes- Elephant Queens of the Stone Age- Songs for the Deaf My Morning Jacket- The Tennessee Fire Hedwig And The Angry Inch- Hedwig and The Angry Inch Soundtrack The Beastie Boys- To The 5 Boroughs Okay, this list was compiled from my WMP. I am BAD in making lists. I always forget important artists, but I just strolled through my WMP after my inspiration died down and noted the albums I could not do without. Every entry here represents a certain moment in my life, a certain mood. More importantly, as music has become my fave addiction again; these are the albums I would NOT delete of my hard-drive to make space for new music. You might note a few new entries here, esp Roisin Murphy, but you do not have to own an album long sumtimes to recognise it's excellence. I have been playing Roisin almost non-stop (in between my music swapping schemes with Isten, when I listen to what I send; yesterday my pathetic collection of Eurythmics extended versions). I am also still surprised at the impact Iron & Wine's Woman King EP made on me... it's basically singer/songwriter Sam Beam playing folk, but this latest EP is a step beyond his own genre, which I like. I want to urge you all to check this Woman King EP out, esp if you love early 70's Joni Mitchell. I took off my initial entry of Miles Davis' Complete Jack Johnson Sessions, because of the fact it's a re-issue and not really a release of this century. I also swapped The Strokes' Is This It? for Roisin Murphy. I have never gotten into the second Strokes so prominently on Moonbeam's list and realised I have much more faith in me playing Roisin in five years than I'll be playing The Strokes. | |

I don't dig this album quite like the stellar debut but I'm still digesting it. Q-tip - Kamaal The Abstract (not officially released)
How do I get a hold of this?!? Donnie - The Colored Section
I was just listening to this last night. I was a little bored with it the first time I listened but I think I will give it another chance. Dwele - Rize (not officially released)
He's got a lot of potential and I heard good things about this album. Nice choices all. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

I'd be happy to make it not pathetic. I have never gotten into the second Strokes so prominently on Moonbeam's list and realised I have much more faith in me playing Roisin in five years than I'll be playing The Strokes.
It was largely a case of right album, right time for me with Room on Fire. Stylistically, it suits me better than the first album, focusing some of its energy on new wave (swoon).
