I LOVE HALL & OATES!!!!!

Hall & Oates's music is terribly underrated, IMO. They were the George Michael duo of the late 70's!

Thier new music hasn't been so great....I wish they'd bring back thier 80's sound.....!

I see their old weird albums b4 they really had hits and I always want to pick one up, afraid of what it might sound like or be let down..I put it back all the time, not knowing what was first or what I should listen to.

I like their last three albums: 'Marigold Sky' (1997),'Do it For Love'(2002) and their new album of soul covers 'Our Kind Of Soul'.I like the fact that they refuse to sellout by "updating" their sound with trendy production, guest rappers, and other modern-day nonsense. For the most part, they stick to their tried-and-true formula and it works.

Get the underrated Daryl's 3 hearts in the happy ending machine solo album (1986), it's maybe his last very great work imo.

Great group all the way around. Great slow jams, great R&B, and also great rock. I'm not one for crossover but I used to love the way their songs made their way to R&B radio without Hall and Oates even trying. Just goes to show they actually had soul in their bones and it wasn't a front.

for a brief period in the mid-70s,they apparently went through some kind of androgyny phase...

Are they gay? I never really heard anyone say they were, but they always struck me as it.

They're great though. That echoing piano at the beginning of "I Cant Go For That" is addictive.

Um, those androgynous pics of Hall and Oates frightens me!

well, I watched the Hall and Oates behind the music (or some music special) and apparently they are both striaght! disbelief

Daryl Hall and his long time wife "Sara" have divorced and Oates is married as well!

Hall and Oates looked great when they appeared on American Idol.

I love these guys too. I haven't listened to much of their music in quite a while, but during the 80's I played them to death.

That's so funny you should say that. I've actually been on the "Before They Die Tour". I got to see NINA SIMONE before she died. I'm hoping to see LITTLE JIMMY SCOTT before he dies. Wish me luck.

Their relatively hard to find 70s albums are their best ones. Experimental, full of variety, soul, and rock... Check out-

Abandoned Luncheonette (1973)
War Babies (1974)
Daryl Hall John Oates (1975)
Along the Red Ledge (1978)
-and-
X-Static (1979)

You'll thank me later! I was especially impressed with Along the Red Ledge and X-Static. Red Ledge is their best album, just slightly in front of Private Eyes.

Well Vain, I remember in the 70's there was rumour going around that Hall and Oates were lovers. So who knows. It could be possible that they were both on the flip side.
