"She's out of my life" vs, "Lady in my life" I like both of these ballards Two of Michael best vocal's performance (except his early work nobody can top that shit) "she's out of my life" is kinda depressing but a good song, so my choice is "Lady in my life"

I like Lady in my life, but I don't think he's ever sung it live. She's out of my life sounds good live and I like when the girl comes on stage. Janet kinda copies it on Funny How Time Flies.
I need to see Lady in my life performed live.

I always thought She's Out... was kinda depressing too. I never loved it the way some folks did but it's a good song. Now Lady In My Life was the song. Back then, I actually believed what he was saying and it had a mature groove to it, maybe one of his only truly sensual songs. Co-sign on wanting to see it performed live. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I would have chosen Human Nature over She's Out Of Life.

"She's Out Of My Life," hands down. Haunting and sad. It's almost done like a prayer. Some of the best male vulnerabilty on record.

I gotta go with The Lady In My Life... So sad and Janet even had to touch it. She's Out Of My Life is coo, but Lady he was almost desperate...damn now Im gonna have to play that. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

"She's Out Of My Life" - MJ's definitive vocal performance, and the song breaks my heart everytime.

She's out of my life. the ones who has Off The Wall special edition might know: Quincy said MJ cried at the end, everytime they wanted to record it, which was 11 or 12 take. Then they decided to let it in.

"Lady In My Life"... "She's" is classic too but that fake ass cry @ the end always makes me giggle, kinda ruins it for me - picturing Mike crying like a bitch w/ curl juice fucking up his headphones . [Edited 4/23/05 0:27am] I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it

They are both great, but probably Lady in my life. I love its smoothness. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don“t like the idea that he could have it all."

I have to go with Lady In My Life. I love how Quincy & Mike put some jazzy flavor in the song. Check me out and add me on:

"She's Out Of My Life" wins hands down. However, "The Lady In My Life" is very, very good. If an album that's sold this many copies can have a hidden gem on it, "The Lady In My Life" is it. Overlooked only by virtue of not having been picked as a single. Good tune though. "I don't need your forgiveness, cos I've been saved by Jesus, so fuck you."

"She's Out Of My Life." It's treacly and self-pitying (not to mention the last "liiiffe" sounds like crocodile tears even though MJ was probably really crying), but the scoring is utterly superb and the sentiment is finely realistic and haunting. This really is a heartbreaking classic.
"Lady In My Life" has top-quality production and some astounding vocals by MJ but topically it's just something of a rehash of the already unconvincing, Hallmark-laden "Baby Be Mine" and is slightly less organic (albeit totally smooth) than its given rival.

It wasn't a single? 'Thriller' is one of the few albums where EVERY song got radio airplay at some point.I heard "Lady In My Life" on the radio all the time back then.

Lady in my life was usually played on Black radio though.

"Lady In My Life" is smooth and jazzy. It fits perfectly on Quiet Storm radio stations. It has a beautiful melody (which Jam and Lewis swiped for Janet's "Funny How Time Flies") and it's one of Michael's most soulful slow jams ever. "She's Out Of My Life" is more of a pop ballad.Nothing wrong with that, but I prefer "Lady In My Life".

Confession:
"The Lady In My Life" was my wedding song. We were dancing all close and slow, but then when the bridge comes in.... "lay back in my tenderness....." We backed away from each other and danced on our own, just gettin' it. Then as the bridge comes to an end.... two hearts in a beat of ecstasy/come to me, girl I grabbed my wife's hand, spun her around, dipped her and brought her back in the groove. Yeah. What was the question again?
