Songs In The Key of Life vs. Sign's of Times Wow, Im really looking forward what you have to say about this one. Both of these albums are considered the best or one of the best album for both of these artist. I know both of these men have a tremondous amount of respect for each other. Stevie has stated that Prince "insight is priceless" he has thanked Prince many times about sharing his gift of music with him. ( For some reason I think these guys have alot of songs that they have done together, that we will never here!!)
Prince has been quoted as saying "Songs in the Key of Life is the album that you judge your album too, if you are serious musican! Which one do you guys think are better? As we take a look and celebrate these albums, lets not get stuff in these time periods, as much as we have to look back to say thank you, lets enjoy these artist new music. Musicology was great, and I'm sure his new one wont let any of us down. And I've been waiting forever for A Time to LOVE, and all i have to say it better be good, or I'm coming after Stevie. So it's on Songs in the Key of LIfe or Sign Of Times

I'd have to say songs in the Key of Life seems deep, more emotional, but SOTT has this abstract sort of texture that's so original... I think prince's brilliance often lies in the sound not the literal lyrics... for example, in the more recent "when I lay my hands on you", the lyrics are forgetable in concept, but the sound is interesting.... of course there are great lyrics on SOTT... but songs seems more emotionally deep...
I was awstruck when Stevie wonder opened that benefit concert after 9/11. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

I don't have the "Songs In The Key Of Life" album....yet (the record store has put a rediculously $30 price tag on it recently), but from the tracks that I already have from that album, they kick the hell out of "Sign O The Times" ass. Andy is a four letter word.

Wow. This is a comparison of my two favorite artists.
I'd have to give it to "songs in the key of life.".....much more spiritual album. **************************************************

SITKOL has more of a flow and a concept than SOTT has, which seems more patchy.. SOTT is essential and I love it as one of Princes best...
neverthelss Stevie wins this clearly Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

Please get SITKOL today. It's a double album with 21 songs and a 24-page booklet, what would you expect? Check me out and add me on:

Both are in my top 5 favorite albums of all time. Songs in the Key of Life would probably take that #1 slot however!

Yes, both in my top5.
1) Songs In The Key Of Life 2) Off The Wall 3) Sign 'O' The Times 4) Kind Of Blue 5) Thriller SITKOL at 1 cause I'm more of a soul fan, and there are NO less great tracks on it like SOTT's It.

Songs In The Key Of Life.
But if SOTT was to be remastered, i might well have a different opinion.

This is tough because I really love both. However, I'm more of a fan of Prince than Stevie Wonder as a whole so Sign o' the Times wins. That said, Songs in the Key of Life may be my favorite album of the 1970s. [Edited 4/16/05 19:33pm] Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

I have to agree with Pix on this one, I love with Prince but everything i have, but Stevie was on a mission from God, when he did Songs in the Key of Life one of the top five albums of all time,

SOTT on a whole is a better album to listen to. However, "As" is better than every single song on SOTT. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
