Discovery Channel's Greatest Americans Some Musicians on the list
Greatest American premieres Sunday, June 5, at 8 p.m. ET/PT Every Sunday in June, Discovery Channel wants you to help decide the "Greatest American" of all time. "Greatest American" premieres on Sunday, June 5, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. We'll be counting down from the Top 100 and asking you to vote (online, via a toll-free phone line, or through text messaging) for your choice of the Greatest American. When you think of the "Greatest American," what person — living or dead — comes to mind? Someone who seized opportunities, saw things in a different way or stood out in a crowd? Someone who demonstrated determination, vision and hard work? This person could be an inventor, explorer, entertainer, entrepreneur or athlete. He or she may have changed the way we think, work or live. He or she may have challenged us, delighted us or outraged us, and ultimately may have helped us define what it means to be an American. Who do YOU most identify as the "Greatest American"? For the first time in American television history that question will be answered by YOU as we count down the top 100 Greatest Americans. Review the list of the top 100. Then, in a series of audience-participation television programs beginning June 5 we will be asking for your input to determine the ultimate "Greatest American." I heard he was antisemitic and a woman-hater. But hey, he made pictures of mice move and talk, so hey, he must've been a hero, right....? Straight up walt was a visionary. He basically invented full lenth cartoons, colour cartoons and made one of the most famous characters of all time. Then he was wayyyyy ahead of his time with "fantasia". Made "disneyland" which was pretty cool and had dreams for a city of the future called "epcot". it looked sooooo cool. But he died before it got finished. Such a shame as his dying wish to get it completed PROPERLY yrt it never got realized. Epcot would of been a landmark wordlwide seriously. Arnie? American?

He also gave his cartoonists no credit either yet dispite his actions, he was a genius really. I read he is jacko's hero. He is sort of mine too.

apparently, the definition of "american" is pretty liberal...oh, and the definition of "greatest" appears to be pretty generous, too.
