I think that she was nominated for Grammy but she didn't get any.

It was a pretty good album. It was laid back, flava-full and truthful with lots o soul. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

It's decent. I was wanting some funk, but of course she wouldn't be able to sell funk to this dead generation. Anyway, it has some nice slow jams on it. Andy is a four letter word.

It's a great album, but unfortunately, her record company really messed up the promotion.Strong songs like "Honey Call","My Body's Hungry" and "Baby I'm Your Fiend" had major hit potential.Shame on Cash Money/Universal for letting this project die too soon.

I felt the same about this cd. I wanted it to be funkier and a litle faster. Too many slow jams for my liking so I was a bit disspointed.

Yes, I was missing that "Behind The Groove" funk that I know Teena can throw down in her sleep...You can't go wrong with a Teena slow jam, ever...Teena is one of those artists unfortunately will never get the props they truly deserve. For her though, I think it is more important that the people love the music...

I also was disappointed with the duet with Rick James. It wasn't that great. I don't know if he ever fully got his voice back after his stroke but "A Rose By Any Other Name" would have been the perfect "Fire And Desire" type slow jam between the two of them.
I have to give it to Gerald Levert though, he did an excellent job on this song.....and I am not even a Gerald Levert fan. I had heard that there was going to be a Rick James/Teena Marie duet on the album and when I first heard "A Rose Is Still A Rose" on the radio, I swore it was Rick and Teena. Levert sounds very similar to Rick on this track. Andy is a four letter word.
