Yeah, I think this is a great album. The Manics are a funny band for me. On the one hand I think they're capable of great music, and in James Dean Bradfield they have a very tlaented individual, yet on the other they can be pretentious, and sound outdated. That said I always enjoy a lot of their songs, and this album in paticular is really good. Like I said their appeal for me now is mainly Bradfields voice and music. He's a great guitar player, very under rated IMO, and always writes a melody that is memorable. Nicky Wire's lyrics are to hit and miss for me to relate to.

nod Wire's lyrics are pretty dreadful, aren't they?


I saw the band a couple of weeks ago and can confirm that Bradfield is very much on form in the guitar playing stakes - he really has raised his game recently.
