This makes me really sad in a way. I only got into Kylie in 2002 and will see her 4 times in Sydney. However, having to deal with all of her demanding fans must grow really tiresome and I understand her need for some time off.

Rumors of Kylie's impending retirement have run rampant for awhile now, though, and this is the first real confirmation from her that she will take a break. Something tells me it may be the end, though.

I've head it's a "farewell" to Kylie the pop star, and that she plans to release a jazz or rock album neutral avant garde Kylie phase. ultimately it's just so she can return to "pop" in a few years again and build momentum as her pop career looks dead.
