D'Angelo sentenced " what you putting in your nose? is that where all your money goes? the river of addiction flows...you think it's hot..."
D'Angelo pleads guilty to drug possession RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Michael Eugene Archer, better known as D'Angelo, has pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and driving under the influence of alcohol after a January traffic stop. In an unusual legal maneuver, authorities said Archer appealed both the marijuana and DUI convictions to Chesterfield Circuit Court. By Kevork Djansezian, AP Archer, 31, a Richmond native, waived his preliminary hearing on a third charge of possession of cocaine, a felony. A Chesterfield General District Court judge certified that charge to a Chesterfield Circuit Court grand jury. The R&B singer was fined $250 Wednesday and given a 90-day suspended jail term on the DUI conviction. Archer's driver's license was suspended for one year. On the marijuana charge, Archer was fined $50 and given a 10-day suspended jail term. His driver's license was suspended for an additional six months. In an unusual legal maneuver, authorities said Archer appealed both the marijuana and DUI convictions to Chesterfield Circuit Court. Archer was pulled over on Jan. 9 in suburban Richmond, where he was charged with driving under the influence. Authorities said a subsequent search yielded marijuana and .029 grams of cocaine. ----- Copyright 2005 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. I know there are some jealous D'Angelo haters who are secretly cheering about this. That's alright. I hope this serves as a wake up call for D to get his act together. Maybe we can get another great CD out of him now.
With that said, who's going to be the first one to call him and say "Hey D. can you come pick me up?"

Neither. Looks like they're both "suspended". tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

The fact that having a third of a gram of cocaine is a felony is just fucking ridiculous. That said, I truly hope D is healthy and happy. The Normal Whores Club

I'll always support D'Angelo. Get well soon. I'm sure he's learning from this, and he'll be back in top form. The Org is the short yellow bus of the Prince Internet fan community.

He's influenced by Prince, right?
Well, maybe it's time to take Prince's lead and not be a drugged up loser. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Well, maybe it's time to take Prince's lead and not be a drugged up loser fo' real! It's time for these guys to leave the drugs alone and concentrate on their MUSIC for a change.

I'm not a drug user, hell all I do is smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol, but some of the baddest artists of the past have done drugs. I'm wondering if maybe today's music is so horrible because so many artists are drug free.
Before anyone gets their damn panties in a wad, it's a joke. [Edited 4/15/05 5:31am] Andy is a four letter word.

Well, maybe it's time to take Prince's lead and not be a drugged up loser. Wow, what a non-judgemental, non-generalizing, unself-righteous statement. Prince "fams" are so sensitive to other artists' situations. I just love the way you all hold back comments until you know all the facts and then once you do, you say something supportive and positive.

This is indeed bad news, but I sincerely hope he gets his act together one of these days and starts to record again. He has real talent and Voodoo proved that beyond a doubt.
