eels - Blinking Lights & Other Revelations Another musical journey through the life of Mark Oliver Everett, aka E.
I haven't heard it yet but has gotten good reviews sofar, apparently his best since Beautiful Freak. I will definitely get it, already have ticks for his show next month! E is a fucking song-writing genius.....does anyone agree?

it's a double disc concept album about the meaning of life. probably just a bunch of filler.
KIDDING!!! i'm sooooo looking forward to hearing this album, i can hardly stand it. i forget when it's supposed to hit wrecka stows...this week? i love everything eels have done. everything. they don't have a single rotten album. my least favorite is their first album, and i even like that one. a new album by them is always something to look forward to.

That's great. And you're right, eels has never released an album that is bad or so-so..... Catch him live, you'll be amazed! Great shows! The coming show (next month), he'll be performing with a string-ensemble!!!!! That's E for you!

Yesss. I've had it for weeks and it's growing and growing. it will most likely become one of my favourite Eels albums! Although i do consider all of his albums as masterpieces (well actually, Shootenanny i haven't learned to adore as much as others...)
But he is genius. Small but very meaningful music. [Edited 4/14/05 13:20pm] ********************************************

I've had the same thing with Souljacker. BTW, E is having his beard again.....says a lot about his mood, yet he's just so cool! Tickets were in the mail today, can't wait! Gonna be the 4th time!

It is NOT going to be a rock-show, says the web-site ( www.eelstheband.com)... I think it will be something like the 2000 tour when he was with the Galaxy 2000 Ochestra.

better than Shootenanny? :raiseseybrow: that's one of my top CDs of the last 5 years. but yeah, i'm going to be at the record store tomorrow (cos of the timing of reviews i've heard, i'm guessing it comes out in the UK tomorrow? (Monday?))

Shit, I'm digging this record....Anxiety, listened to it yet?

i have this CD on my ipod and i've heard most of the songs on shuffle but haven't really listened thru the whole album yet. but from what i can tell, it's probably one of the best of his career.

I thought Shootenanny was very introspective, too. In fact, i'm not sure E's ever done anything which wasn't.
