What do you think of some vocalists, speaking voices?

Have you ever heard a vocalist speak for the first time and you were suprised at how they sound?

Billy Joe Armstrong sounds nothing like he does when he sings. I like his speaking voice though. He sounds cute.

Xtina sounds a lot more ditzy when she speaks. When she sings she sounds more mature.

Beyonce has a beatuful voice and when she speaks sounds like a country bumpkin.

Mariah Carey sounds like she smokes a pack a day but has an incredible singing voice.

Who else comes to minnd?

Prince's speaking voice is a shocker to most people who aren't used to hearing him speak.

U could mention just about any singer from the UK. They sound American when they sing, but u can clearly hear their British accent when they speak.

Because English singing annunciation, unlike accents, is pretty universal.

Cher's is totally different from her singing voice.

MJ sounds like a little girl, but has a much different singing voice.

Mariah sounds like a fucking man. When Madonna talks it sounds like she could break into song at ANY TIME.

Prince really tripped me out the first time I heard him speak. I was used to hearing that high singing voice (especially back in those days when that's all he sang in) and wasn't prepared to hear that deep speaking voice.

All the British and overseas groups tripped me out when I heard them speak, especially Rod Stewart. I loved his music in the late 1970s/early 1980s. His music was so hard but his speaking voice sounded really "nerdy".....it was a real turn off.
