Funkiest Jackson 5 track: 'Hum Along And Dance'!

Oh. My. God. omfg

I can't believe I've only just recognised this track! I never gave the Jackson 5 the benefit of doubt for their funkiness, I just thought it was all about their ABC's, or blaming it on their boogie ill This, is hard, dirty, ill FUNK. Gonna buy my first ever Jackson 5 album based solely on this track smile

Yeah I've just found 'Get It Together' bundled with 'Skywriter' cool

And they have 'Dancing Machine' bundled with 'Moving Violation'!

Hum Along is writen by the same guys who funked up the Temptations right? It's got that Temptations funk feel smile

Kool Herc, one of the pionners of Hip Hop, was spinning this song in the 70's and became a B-Boy classic. Check Kurtis Blow's History of Hip Hop CDs, he mentions the song among others.

Yeah, "Hum..." is real FUNKY, have you heard the unedited version on the Joyful Jukebox Music/Boogie reisue. If you thought the Get it Together version is long, this one is 15 minutes of stank funk.

Other FUNKY J5 Cuts:

Get It Together
Don't Say Goodbye Again
Mama I Gotta Brand New Thing (Don't Say Know)
Dancing Machine
I Am Love
She's a Rhythm Child
The Life of the Party
Moving Violation
Body Language (Do the Love Dance)
Pride And Joy
We're Gonna Change Our Style

They should make a J5 Funk Compilation.
