"CONTROL" VS. "RHYTHM NATION 1814"

VS.

which do u think is the better album?? I love both albums, but i think the single "Control" kicks the shit off any song(excluding "escapade") on Rhythm Nation 1814. but i guess that's just my opinion.....

Rhythm Nation

While Control had great beats and featured more of the minneapolis sound, RN1814 seemed to better from an artistic stand point...musically and lyrically.

I love them both equally, but I'd probably go with Control if only because her sound was fresher then.

1814. Prefer the production. "control" has some very weak ass material. Yet I barely hear either album.

The intro to "what has he done for me lately" cracks me up.

Control is just golden to me. My personal nostalgia level for Control is through the roof considering I was into this album when it was actually new. Over time, my appreciation has only increased. I used to think certain tracks were less important than others, but now I find this the most essential Janet album.

To me Control only has 2 fillers: You Can Be Mine and He Doesn't Know I'm Alive. Even though there are only 9 songs, that's pretty minimal when many albums are 50% plus filler material.

Control has that Minneapolis sound, great songs
like What have U done...(even Prince played a part of it
live),Nasty and Control(12"is even better).
But Rythm Nation has much more songs wich are so
good, and what a solid sound this album has!!

IMO Control is Janet's classis album..but RN is her masterpiece...

RHYTHM NATION 1814 HANDS DOWN!

Its Janets best album.... cool
tho' I battled blind
love is a fate resigned
memories mar my mind
love it is a fate resigned

Over futile odds
and laughed at by the Gods
and now the final frame
Love is a losing game

Rhythm Nation 1814 is my favorite album by anyone other than Prince. Control is probably my 4th favorite Janet album.

No competition.

I love them both but it Rhythm Nation by a nose. Control is a real close #2 for me. Both of those albums are Janet at her best IMHO.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I totally 100% agree with what she is saying... but her singing it didnt sound good... she had no melody in her voice... it sounded terrible... maybe if it was whitney then it would have sounded better... like when with said I believe the children are our future...teach them well... that sounded really nice... and it was a great song.. i wish people would teach their children... not by word but by example... so many children dont have morals... why b/c their parents didnt teach them...there parents are teaching to not have morals... like if someone's mother has children before marriage by diff.. baby daddy's and still doesnt get married..then people will think its okay to just have baby's with out the father being in their lives... Im not saying this applies for everyone
