All of the scenes with Danny Devito are missing....the scene where the hooker and the waitress are both crying over their breakups with their boyfriends....the scene where Marcia's "date" comes back to pick her up....these scenes are nowhere to be found on the DVD!! Wtf??
Does anyone else have this problem? Are these scenes deleted from your DVD too? ----- Did you get the DVD from Blockbuster because they edit their DVD's?

Prince-related trivia....
The character of "Loretta" is played by an actress named Ren Woods. She's the young lady who is arguing with her boyfriend when he tells her that he is not going to college. She's also a singer. In 1982,she recorded a song called "I Don't Wanna Stop" which was written and produced by none other than Prince. The song briefly appeared on her album, but for some reason,it was quickly pulled at Prince's request.

Like I said, I've not seen the movie, but I'm wondering if a lot of these scenes that people are talking about were scenes that were not in the film to begin with. When films are edited for content to be shown on broadcast television, obviously the running time is shorter. And I know that a lot of times to compensate for this, scenes that were cut from the film's theatrical print are added back in to pad the running time and fill a two-hour spot. Is this the case with Car Wash?

Is this the case with Car Wash? I know exactly what you're saying. When 'Saturday Night Fever' appeared on TV,they took out ALOT of scenes (for obvious reasons) and replaced them with other scenes that didn't appear in the regular theatrical version.Presumably, these scenes are just "outtake footage" that was left on the editing room floor. But in the case of 'Car Wash',I remember seeing many of those deleted scenes in the theatre! Those scenes were indeed part of the regular movie that played in theatres back in 76/77.
