History of Funk Playlist to Introduce Peopl to Funk or convert the Sir noses

I'm trying to develop a playlist that covers all the most important and best songs in the history of funk to provide a good crossection of what the funk as a genre is all about. Here's the songs I'm thinking of including, but haven't quite figured out the order

James Brown
Out of sight
Papa's got a brand new bag
Cold Sweat
Get up I feel like being a sex machine
Sly& The Family Stone
Dance To the Music
Thank You Falletin Me Be Mice Elf Agin
I Wanna take you higher
In Time
Parliament
Give up the funk
Mothership Connection
Flashlight
Up for the down stroke
Funkadelic
Superstupid
One Nation Under A Groove
Can You Get To That
Who Says a Funk Band Can't Play Rock
Earth Wind And Fire
Shining Star
Serpentine Fire
September
Curtis Mayfield
Don't Worry If There's A Hell Below We're All Gonna Go
Get Down
Freddie's Dead
Stevie Wonder
Love Having You Around
Superstition
Higher Ground
Marvin Gaye (yes I think he had an impact on funk)
What's Going On
Let's Get It On
Donny Hathaway
The Ghetto
Kool and The Gang
Jungle Boogie
Commodores
Brick House
Michael Jackson
Don't Stop Till You Get Enough
Billie Jean
Shake Your Body Down To the Ground
Prince
Lady Cab Driver
Erotic City
Computer Blue

I'm looking for suggestions in regards to other artists who aren't necessarily considered "funk artists" who've played a role in its developement such as Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix and Herbie Hancock, and to whether or not the artists I've represented are represented by the best and proper number of songs.

I don't know his place with Regards to Funk but

Screaming Jay Hawkins "I put a spell on you" is pretty funky.

Gene Chandler "Duke of Earl" I think he is funky.

Led Zeppelin was funky as hell.

Thank you for all your suggestions but I'm trying to keep if fairly concise and limir each artist to no more than four songs. Though I think Curtis, Stevie and maybe a couple others deserve another spot

Funk definers both.

Man this is killing me. There are so many people around me who have either no appreciation for, or a complete aversion to the funk. What the hell is wrong with them? Are they just too white, do they not have enough soul (very ironic coming from a man of my skin tune)? All these people who think punk and metal and other such shite (I'm just being defensive now, because I like almost all genres of music) is such great music. PSHAH, it's BOOORING to me, it has no rhythmic dynamic. Ok, maybe that's not fair, but I think most people who don't like it just don't have any sense of rhythm or inclination to dance. They just want something to jump up and down to or do their air guitar. Funk has GROOVE, it has overlapping layers of rhythm, it's earthy and gritty and danceable and fun. I needs to make me my own bop gun and force these sir noses to get off their ass and jam mad
fro

this is not directed at anybody here, obviously, I'm just venting

Okkkaaaay? (snappin my fingers).

FUNK is groove situated with or without funky lyrics situated over funky melodies making u really want to funk up your interplanetary funksmanship. Can yall dig that?

Though most of what I have seen on here is funky enough to be funked up.
