John Legend's ORDINARY PEOPLE - make it stop! Maybe I'm having one of those days, but I just flipped on the VH-1 HITS cahnnel and this video was on and I watched the last minute or so and I wanted to scream! He plays a good piano but his voice on this song...he sounds like he is singing on the toilet, attempting to take a poop but it won't come out! And the video...I had this Godfrey and Creme flashback from 1984, their video "CRY." THe most cheese I've seen in a video (as of 2005, of course)
OK...so here's my rant for Easter morning. Sorry if I killed your Easter buzz. Let the rain come down...17 days....

I don't know if I'm reminded of 1984's "Cry"... more like 1994's "Flava In Ya Ear"

You know what? I orignally like the song. But of course, the radio has to play it a million times!! And now I am getting fed up with it. His voice doesn't bother me at all though. I have the cd and he has some talent.

he's the new Alicia Keys...you know anybody who can actually play the piano and has a decent voice gets ooo-globs of media attention and massive airplay without actually doing anything great. hell, Jamie Foxx can do what he does. nevermind that artists like Prince and Stevie, who have redefined musical genres in the last two or three decades have to be satisfied with marginal if any mainstream airplay. Legend (ha ha) reminds me of Brian McKnight, somebody who could be a really good lead singer in a great band, but somehow shouldn't be great all on his own. you look better on your facebook page than you do in person

Yes, the song is pure and utter tripe, as it was the first time I heard it! Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Here's a solution: quick watching BET/MTV/VH1 and don't turn on your radio. Onion Juice appears courtesy of Streethop.com

...The tune always reminded me too much of the acoustic version of D'angelo's song, 'Africa'... " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

OK...so here's my rant for Easter morning. Sorry if I killed your Easter buzz. Oh man, you are SO wrong for the Godley and Cream reference! I remember that video with that cracked out looking Mr. T and all those people crying! (LMAO) This John Legend guy is not worth all the hype. He's mediocre in my opinion and that song is not good to me. He is straining to hit his notes and he is highly overrated. Just another guy playing a piano in my opinion. "haters wanna hate/lovers wanna love/I don't even want/none of the above/I want to piss on you/yes I do/I wanna pee you..."

The first time I heard it, I thought it was all right. Then I heard "How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore" again. When the sunlight strikes raindrops in the air, they act as a prism and form a rainbow. The rainbow is a division of white light into many beautiful colors. Regardless of the day, I'm glad you were born.

funny you should mention this because i saw the video last night too and it doesn't bother me but i'm not sure if i like his voice. i can tell he's talented but something about his voice doesn't do it for me. give me some van hunt any day!

Actually, same here. Seems like the same chord progression... and the way he plays the chords.. And the tempo. Aw hell, it's a ripoff!

What other guy on the radio these days plays the piano? You have a point ... and that's how John Legend is riding a mediocre song to the top of the charts. Because there's a void to be filled. Norah Jones did this, recently. When the sunlight strikes raindrops in the air, they act as a prism and form a rainbow. The rainbow is a division of white light into many beautiful colors. Regardless of the day, I'm glad you were born.

Exactly. Because, I'm definitely not feeling his ass. If anything, it's been alot hype and promotion thats kept him afloat not so much talent.

Go listen to "Live It Up". That's what the future of soul should be.
It IS time to put "Ordinary People" to bed. It has entered oversaturation. .
