Bjork to Release 2-DVD 'Medulla' Set! another goodie from www.pitchforkmedia.com:
Björk is preparing to release a two-disc DVD version of her most recent album, Medulla. The set features a documentary about the making of the album, the music videos, and, of course, the actual album in 5.1 surround sound. The second disc will not be available in the UK, U.S., and Iceland, because its material was already released separately in those countries, but it will be available to the rest of the world for the first time. That second disc contains, "The Inner or Deep Part of an Animal or Plant Structure", a documentary about the making of the album.

I think the 2nd disk was what this was supposed to be...but they need something to make it more marketable. Personally, I hope this is just coming out just because with no consequence to the rest of her releases.
Army of Remixes should be out soon too. (Oh joy...2 full disks of remixes and remakes of the same song...and one that is SO not my favorite (although I did submit in a remix to be considered) Is it me or does Bjork spend like 2-3 years pouring out everything possibly related to each release. Not saying she doesn't leave anything behind for folks to discover after or later...but she certainly takes the OPPOSITE approach to her music that Prince does. it sounds like the version that could be coming out in the states might be one of those dualdisc packages, kinda like the bowie 'reality' dualdisc release earlier this year that had the album on one side, and a bunch of DVD content on the other side.
i'm really not thrilled with the idea of having to buy medulla again to get these goodies, especially considering i don't care for the copy i have all that much...but who am i kidding? i want the videos! | |

I actually started a thread about this a few weeks back. Quite the discussion about flooding the market vs. pleasing the fans.
That said...my only complaint is that the videos aren't just being released on their own with the Spike Jonze documentary included. We don't need the "Making Of" twice. That's just silly. | |

i think the US release is going to come with a different 'making-of' featurette of some kind - the 'inner or deep part etc. etc.' documentary isn't going to be included in the US release. | |

 I haven't seen any of the videos off this album! Thanks for the post. See...I wish more artists would take lead from Björk and actually please their fans.
