I REALLY believe this album is gonna be huge. it's like an amalgamation of Butterfly (her best album IMO) and Glitter (great underrated party album)
check out 'mine again' | |

u can get it on limewire anyways. what do fellow orgers think of it?
i really love 'MA' and 'Stay The Night@ but 2 b honest not 1 weak track 2 b found! makes a chsnge 2 the debacle that was 'charmbracelet' rite enough, a few tracks are reminiscent of subtle invitation.

Alright, I really and truly like this album. I've listened to it a few times now and cannot wait to buy it come release day. It's a return to form for Mariah. As I said in a previous thread, the last album of hers that I liked was Butterfly, but even that one was prone to some of her loony tunes.
Song break: Oooh, sweet. I just finished listening to Get Your Number, and she does the old dolphin call toward the end. Anyway, I'm so loving Your Girl. It seems like forever since she's sung in that higher register. Makes me think of the good ole pre-bonkers Mariah. Good track to play at full volume in the car. Whitle there's a definite hip-hop influence on this album, I don't think it derails the project, like it has in other Mariah projects.

The album is waaaaay better than 'Charmbracelet', 'Glitter', and 'Rainbow'...thats for sure. It doesnt top 'Butterfly' though, the album has a few gems....there's still some songs that are crap. The album is good, I wouldn't call it a "masterpeice" like I've been hearing from lambs. love is a fate resigned memories mar my mind love it is a fate resigned Over futile odds and laughed at by the Gods and now the final frame Love is a losing game

A lot of people believe Butterfly is her best album, but that still did have weak tracks (4th of july, outside) IMO. it included the cover of 'the Beautiful Ones' that is universally derided in prince fan circles.
I believe The Emancipation Of Mimi is a great return 2 form from what i've heard ( esp Stay The Night, Mine Again, Get ur Number) and in 8 yrs time will be regarded as her strongest album (Butterfly was released in 1997 and a lot of fans and critics weren't 2 impressed) Lets wait and see what IDJ do wit promotion etc.....

I've been so optimistic with my girl Mariah, but I've lost my patience and what I've heard of this new one is crap. I blame it on her rapper friends. Her music's slowly been decreasing in quality for 8 years. Don't hurt me, I'm a newb. I'm supposed to be stupid.
